The Grandfather of the Soviet Stalinetz tractors, the Caterpillar 60:

This conversion is designed for Trumpeter's S-65 tractor and is an alternative to the superb, but expensive, Plus Models kit.

Here we have the S-60, looking like a clone of the Caterpillar 60:

Again, it is designed for Trumpeter's S-65 tractor and is an alternative to Plus Models' excellent all resin and PE kit. What to do with my unbuilt one? Build it of course!

From their forthcoming figure line, we have two Reichsbahn (German Railways) releases:

Firemen (shoveling coal into the furnace).

Those are really cool. The tractor looks like it only shares the running gear and chassis in common. Would collectives own one for farming by any chance or were these custom made for towing artillery??
James

The 60 Model was for farmers yet adapted to military needs. This brought about the S-65.

regards,

Ok Saul, do you know how much they cost and where one could buy one? I have a little scene in my mind. Probably never happen, but I think I will collect the parts. I also have to find a Russian farm house. I('ve seen them before, but cant remember where. Thanks Saul.
James

Cool, I'm definately getting the Cat 60 conversion. Hoping to build an old barn dio or something...

James, I think your best bet is ordering direct:

Tom

Thanks Tom, I was just hoping maybe there was someplace in the States or Canada. Will order from the source though.
James

Hey James, after looking closer at the LZ site, they do seem to have some US distributors.

HTH,
Tom

Well took the plunge. Got the S-65from Sprue Brothers on sale and now this. Now to formulate the plan in my mind.
