Look at the upper right of the decals to see why this is of interest to me! I know, I know, one track mind!

This aircraft is stabled at our local airport. Maybe next time I see him in town I can get some pictures.

Kittyhawk kits? Never heard of them. Any good?

Hubert, the photos are not of my kit. I didn't think it would interest you though...

That is the T-33. It was the first jet I worked on when studying for my Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) licenses at Aviation High School. We restored them (we had ex-USAF and USN examples), added weapon mounts and ports to the nose (one was an RF model reconfigured to the AT-33), wired them for hard points on the wings, added hard points after strengthening the skin and spars, and polished them after repairing the canopies. We were rightfully proud as they came out great. As students, it never occurred to us how the school was able to afford the parts and we figured it out when the aircraft disappeared from the hangar during summer break.

Later on, I learned they went to San Salvador.

Regards,

I wonder how effectrive those early jet all weather interceptors would have been in their designed role. I could see them successfully taking on Tu-4s, but they seemed like pretty marginal performers if it came to tackling Tu-16s and Tu-95s.

Unfortunately thats why they had nuclear tipped Genies, to knock out a flock of bombers en mass.

Don't want to be contrary here but the F-94 only shared around 75% of the T-33 airframe if you don't consider that the engine was different as well.

Cool looking plane though. I hope you plan on building it as it's not a popular build. The one at Right Patterson is nothing short of gorgeous. No teeth though .

Hope to see it done. Cheers, Christian B)
