Gunner on Tamiya German 7.5cm Anti-tank Gun?

Tankbuilder

I got my buddy building on the 7.5cm german anti-tank guns in 1/35 scale as an introduction build and i have one i'm building too. I was looking at the box art asd the kit line drawings of the gun and crew when I noticed the position of the gunner on the left of the gun. He's straddling the left trail in a crouch. Having seen how even some small caliber guns jump when fired i got to thinking that this guys family jewels are about to get crushed if the gun fires. Here's a link to an image of the Tamiya model as built by Tamiya.

What say you fellows? That left hand gunner in a very unrealistic position if the gun were fired?

Thanks and cheers from Peter

Lets see how it's done:

Yep that's pretty much the same position, think the gunner will raise his legs a bit at the moment he hits the trigger. It's not really clear in this video.

And lets have a look at another one with some more info...
