First World War

Hello everyone,
I would like to tell you about an initiative made by the association of which I am president. In view of the centenary of the First World War we have restored a machine gun location along the river Piave, which was the scene of many bloody battles. The place is about forty kilometers from Venice. Ernest Hemingway was hospitalized in a field hospital at a short distance from here. Here there were also an American department supporting Italian artillery and Scottish departments. We also had the surprise to discover that a cobblestone we believed built in the fascist period, according to the archaeologists from the Veneto region, is actually part of an ancient river port of the Serenissima Republic of Venice in 1777. On 5 and 6 July there will be an event with re-enactors in uniform, both Italians and Austrians, on foot and horseback and with the intervention of vintage aircraft (reconstruction faithful to the originals, of course)
