I picked up the Formations Oddball Sherman converstion and wow, I didn't realize how indepth this set was. I used about 85% of the parts as some of them broke (my fault - ) and some were redundant and they went into the parts box.
The Tamiya M4A3 was the doner kit with Dragon DS steel cheveron tracks and the Jaguar Oddball crew set was used in conjuction with the Formations set.
To the pictures!
The kit at the start

and the finished vehicle. I plan on adding the cables, packs, hemlets, milk jugs etc etc as I aquire them.

Nice but, PLEASE, upload more photographs! It is not a usual conversion so the more images to see the more we can appreciate your work and the depth of the conversion.

Regards,

Interesting subject to model and a very cool faded effect :dude : please, if you have some more pix of the build, post them! ;)

Cheers! B)

hiya! Thanks for all the kind words!
I'm normally a OOB/Weekend Warrior builder but I've been wanting to build this Oddball Sherman for a while now.

I stared at screen caps of the sherman in the film for a while trying to figure out how to attach the loudspeaker and I even asked Rob at Formations if he had any tips for this. Since the movie was really vague on how it is attached and Rob said there was no clear method I winged it with a little plastic strip. LOL

I added the wire to the speaker coming out of the port on the turret. I guess that these "oddballs" would jury-rig this set up and probably not drill a hole through the turret. Since this was a hollywood tank I figured this would pass. LOL

The paint is MM Faded Olive Drab # 2051, I did a pin wash of MM Aircraft Interior Black and a overall wash of Tamiya Dark Earth. I painted the tracks with MM Burnt Umber and lightly drybrushed with MM steel.

The decals supplied by Formations matched the movie markings perfectly. But they were really thin and I almost lost one of the side decals (the slanted one) because it was starting to come apart so I left it alone, a little slanted, but still in one piece.

I'm not 100% finished as I want to add the cables, packs and junk to the vehicle and I want to re-do those tank riders, I'm not happy with them.

Now more pictures! Thanks again for the kind words.
