Converting links into text

HOW do you do this? I can build a comp, and built a PlayStation one emulator for PC but I don't know how this works-example, turn this...

Hiya KD. When you write your thread add your one or more word anchor. Then hi lite it.Then in the menu above you will see a world with a chain. When you click on it there are 2 boxes.If you hi lited it you will see that word or phrase in the right hand box. In the left add your link. If you didnt hi lite a word then write one in the right box. So in using your link I will add an anchor HERE

This will place the following code in the page
url=https://www.google.ca/search?q=bozo+the+clown+episodes&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a]HERE[/url]

Note I removed the fore and aft brackets so the code would show. You'll see your anchor word near the end of the code.

PS when we use a picture all we do is copy the image code and put that in the right hand box. Now the picture is hyper linked to where ever you want to go.

Seems the server update that happened last night has broken some links. You'll notice that James and Chips post are now blank. The text is still there but the system is not processing the messages because of some coding issue. I have contacted our host and I'm sure they will unbreak what they broke soon.
