This went up Thursday while the ground was still frozen. Today its 21C and I decided to take some pics of the newest addition.

First pic shows the T-Bird and F-5 (CF-116)
Sorry Jenny, didnt take a pic of the AAA across the street

Looks cold..

I think it would be interesting to know the engineering it takes to mount these things. Especially on that aggressive angle this thing is mounted.

James, you might be interested to know that we have a T33 stabled at our local airport painted up like a Tbird. Big Dog Cary owns and operates the jet and takes it around on the airshow circuit. Had the chance to meet him once when he was up "wringin' her out".

Cool, I like the T-Bird. The 18 has been 5 years coming. 1st one had an accident while mounting it and broke the nose. Luckily noone hurt. This thing has about 20 big bolts per mount. Funny story, when I was dismounting the F-5 to be repainted I bent a 2.5 inch socket handle. It was about 3 foot long and I gave my all to undo a mount bolt. Tool crib almost charged me for a new one. Wish I could have kept it as a trophy.

I know the handle you're talking about. We used it to tighten a bolt on the rear mounting point of the ALCM pylon on the B52, and clearing bars after last call.

And you bent it..

:blink :blink :notworthy

And now we treat James with new found respect. That's Mister James. :D

Holy Crap! You bent that thing? I need to call you The Hulk (it rhymes with what my wife calls me, The Bulk).
