Here is are a few great reference sources. These are DVDs which SHOW YOU how to take the weapon apart and put it back together. Each one of these have a gunsmith who is an expert on the weapon, carefully taking the piece apart and explaining the parts.
American Gunsmithing Institute
AGI has video "courses" ranging from basic disassembly/reassembly of weapons to armorer's courses. These DVDs include, but are not limited to, the following: M1911 pistol, Mauser rifle, Browning .30 caliber (the water-cooled jobbie), Garand, FN/FAL, Luger, Colt Peacemaker, Winchester 73, and others.
"Gun Club of America Connection"
A subsidiary of AGI, this monthly video magazine has reviews and disassembly of all sorts of weapons. Back issues (which can still be had), include the Moisin-Nagant, Walther's P-38, and others.
Check these out. They are really invaluable if you want to present a soldier cleaning his piece.
