Just a little bookcase/showcase I threw together last week.

Thats nice! Cindy and I was talking about this today.

Just need a blue tarp under it to give the glass that blue water look (y)

Thanks guys! The whole thing is made out of scraps and off-cuts I'd been hording at work. It helps to work in a carpentry shop. Any one can make this.....It really is a box turned up on end with some shelves nailed in.

I did luck out with the glass shelves. They came from some display cases in our gift shop that were being discarded. I ask for them and was told to take all I wanted, they were headed for the land fill. The only plan I had was to use the glass shelves and their size determined the size of the "box". After that I made it up as I went along.

So if you have a circular saw and a router and some spare time, and some scrap 3/4" plywood and scrap 1x pine your all set. I knocked this together in about 3 hours. The staining and poly clear coats took about 10 hours including dry time.

It's not at all fancy, but it does photograph well! Now I need about 4 more of them to get the rest of my books and stash outta the garage and cellar.

HA I know how that works...opps, cut that 5foot board 4'11...oddly just the right size for my new cabinet. :facepalm

Make it 5 of them and I'll come up and get mine. :drinks

Well, maybe if you worked in a carpenter shop anyway you would be able to pull this off.

Looks good and practical . (y)
