Hello and good day. Its been awhile since my last post; this is my latest completed effort. On and off this kit took me almost 12 months to complete.

My WIP is here in another forum which I am active.

1/48 Italeri Hawk T Mk 1. xx256, 2nd Tactical Weapons Unit, Chivenor, RAF, 1981

Thank you for viewing.

Have been doing some thinking about this kit after completion, here are some of my thoughts:

1. The decal instructions are quite poor, they have lines that point to where the decals should sit, but no pictures to show you the orientation of the decal. Example I need to check the boxart to know the red 'danger' triangles should have the point facing up or down. But some decals like the ones on the missile, I skip them because of lack of clear instructions.

2. Although this is a new mold, but the fit feels pretty last millennium to me and the panel lines don't quite line up properly for example.

3. The canopy doesn't quite sit right on the cockpit. So better to do open cockpit if you can or do many test fitting.

4. I guess this kit exposes me as a noob builder because I always have fit issues with it. I am sure someone with better skills and references could build a real gem out of this kit. To me there are just too many parts to sand and seam lines to remove.

5. The PE seat belts are thick and hard top work with (but maybe thats before I discovered what 'annealing' is).

My conclusion is this is not a horrible kit, however I feel that it is not for novice or even average modeler. It needs someone who is passionate about the subject and would want to put in the extra effort to make it right.

If you want to try, I suggest you start by downloading Tamiya's instructions for this kit first (Tamiya did a rebox + added metal pilots as ballast).
