    F16A - 1/48 kit from Kinetic

Crazy says you, madness says me  Right, time to make a move - the Black Dog F16 C Big Set (for Tamiya they say) is a little bit of a monster. Nose electronics - the whole chunk around and to the rear of the cockpit, turbine & co, right behind the air intake (top image) engine...

MODERN RUSSIAN ARMOUR USED IN COMBAT - T-80U BUILD update 18th April

Few miles up the coast - Aussie slang for a long way away - these little things laugh in the morning too. I don't mind, I find that relaxing. Looking forward to seeing some Ian magic here mate :popcorn

    F16A - 1/48 kit from Kinetic

I like the kit already, it's a challenge to cut a lot of the original and threw it out, but the additions are worth it. Laurence

    IAR-81C - WW2 Romanian Fighter

Thank you :good: As for a name, I don't really have any evidence there has ever been one. This airplane has been and still is much discussed, at least amongst Romanian enthusiasts. I read some of those forums and much more, never seen a name. Nose art, yes, quite a few inspired by American...

    IAR-81C - WW2 Romanian Fighter

Thanks Paul - this is indirectly linked to members of my family, two that I know of were pilots in WW2 - they would have certainly see and hear these birds up close. Laurence

    IAR-81C - WW2 Romanian Fighter

Right, time to call this done. Might add a bit more pigments here and there, few very minor adjustments, but it's done. Thanks for watching this build, for the kind words and support. Laurence

    F16A - 1/48 kit from Kinetic

Right ... while final touches of paint are drying on the IAR, I have started this one ... And some extra goodies ... Inside the Blackdog kits ... The 3D decals look very nice, never used this stuff before. Straight from the beginning, the kit parts look nice and crisp, lots of...

    IAR-81C - WW2 Romanian Fighter

Yep - Bic wite-out, small white bottle with an applicator. Chuck mentioned this in his thread about the plane, I tried it, and it works a treat. Once applied it dries super fast, then I smooth it out with a triangular spatula with a little bit of Tamiya X-20A thinner. Leaves a very smooth...

    IAR-81C - WW2 Romanian Fighter

Thanks mate, appreciate it. The kit is suffering from huge gaps, some very brittle parts, misalignment and all, but it's legacy for me, that's why I wanted to do it.

    IAR-81C - WW2 Romanian Fighter

I managed to do a few things since the last update, so it's time to take a look. Engine front view. Oil radiator - Clarke valve there will be lead wires there. scratch built. Had to cut the portion of the wing where this gizmo goes in, cut too much and used brass sheet to recreate the air...
