    Phrozen Mega 8K S printer

Ha, so, I remember the reason I got rid of my old resin printers, cure stations, wash stations, everything. Punctures in the vat film kept happening and resin would leak onto the LCD screen, ruining it immediately, and it was $500 to replace. I had two leaks in three weeks time and Gail said...

    Phrozen Mega 8K S printer

I wish it were instant, but an hour and a half isn't bad! Plus 8 hours to create the part. But that is a one-time thing. This can be printed over and over (but who in the world will want one?!!)

    Phrozen Mega 8K S printer

Ok, wow, after some exposure tweaking I think I have it close. Here is the air conditiiner I printed for the Scout. It is 13mm on the longest side. I created the part in Blender, which I am still learning and slow. But really, I am very pleased with my first auto part!

    Phrozen Mega 8K S printer

You can look at photos all day long but you won't get a sense of how big this printer is until you see it in person. My previous printer was the Phrozen Mega 8K. The plate and vat on this are at least triple the size. I am glad I ordered several bottles of resin. I am looking forward to printing...

    New paint caddy

A lot of the model files I have are also for personal use but I have a few that are OK to sell. I am trying to learn Blender to make my own models. I created an air conditioner for the Scout I am working on. It took literally an entire day, but it looks so good! I certainly could have built it...

I would be in on it. I like the idea of the M4A2/Sherman III.

    New paint caddy

I can't comment on a filament printer, but a resin printer like I am getting would take an entire bottle of resin to print that I think. You are looking at, depending on the resin, $30 - $80 to print it. My resin costs $45 per bottle plus shipping; so, $48+ OOP cost for me.

    MacRobertson Air Race Line up

I think keep the layers thin, almost transparent and build up just to the point where you start to notice you can’t see the marbling, so you don’t lose all of that beautiful work. JM2C

MODERN RUSSIAN ARMOUR USED IN COMBAT - my new obsession

That might be the first time in my life to use the word "extrapolate" in a sentence, written or spoken! I hope I used it right!! LOL

MODERN RUSSIAN ARMOUR USED IN COMBAT - my new obsession

Googling T72 tank I found some specs, but not turret width. I found the overall width of the tank to be 3.59m. I put the line drawing/draft image in photoshop and extrapolated that the turret is 2.75 meters wide. At 1/35 it would be 78.57. Judging that the cage is inset about 20cm, I subtracted...

MODERN RUSSIAN ARMOUR USED IN COMBAT - my new obsession

Got a question. How wide do you estimate this cage is? Or where can I find its dimensions? I estimate his shoulders to be 21" wide (because mine are and I am quite average) and the top is 5-1/2 shoulders wide x21"=115". Scale it down to 1/35=3.3"/84mm. Sound right?

MODERN RUSSIAN ARMOUR USED IN COMBAT - my new obsession

I have a 3D printer on the way. Someone else here has one and prints for y'all and I don't remember who it is so I don't intend to step on any toes. It's just "I can do it if need be".

    AMT International Scout II #2

I had a go at putting the metal window trim back onto the doors. I used .08 steel sheet abd cut a thin sliver with industrial scissors. A little over 1mm wide. First I scribed a line in the sheet for the scissors to follow then cut a couple of strips. I measured lengths from the triangle window...

    AMT International Scout II #2

I had thought to continue the first Scout thread with this second one, but decided to give it its own since I think it is going to be different in many ways. Follow this link to Scout II#1...https://modelersalliance.org/threads/amt-international-scout-ii.157157/ My plan is to make the hinges...

    AMT International Scout II

Thanks!! I used the Tamiya tape sticky to sticky, the painted with enamel paint. They turned out not terrible LOL. I may use really thin styrene next and see which is best.

    AMT International Scout II

I think I will call this one. I am totally tempted to do the second one the same way now that I have some things figured out. However, the thought of making all of those parts again gives me pause. I really want to get Bob's to him, and have considered giving this one and making mine even better...
