    1/16 Scale Tools

I also created these GI flashlights after purchasing some vintage ones on eBay as examples to take measurements off of. They are in 1/16 scale but can be scaled up to to other sizes with your slicer program. https://cults3d.com/:2518819

    1/16 Scale Tools

I always CAD a scale part to the size it’s going to be printed at rather than draw 1 to 1 and shrink it down to scale. Sometimes details have to be a little exaggerated or wall thickness increased. Even though I’m American and use imperial in day to day life I always design in metric since...

    1/16 Scale Tools

Here are some of my 1/16 scale tools I printed out and offer on Cults3D. I used a new technique to create the handle for the hammer. I created a series of ellipses and "skinned" them with a surface, then converted the surface to a solid.

    Greetings

I suspect it's because of the way I saved the files. I shot these on my Nikon D800 and the files were huge. I exported them down to a smaller size and didn't embed the color profile which I suspect is how a thumbnail is created. You can still click on them to see them right? I can on my end.

    Greetings

Since I mentioned in my introduction that I was a pattern builder at MB Models and did the 203mm Howitzer and always thought it was neat when Adam Savage does episodes on old studio models I thought I would share some of my old work. I don't have a lot of the old patterns left and what I have...

Thanks, that conversion set was a long protracted project that went back years. I lucked out and located an actual vehicle close to where I live to take measurements from. It sat on a “digital” shelf for years because I couldn’t figure out how to make the corners come together on the cab. It’s...

    Greetings

Hello! I’m Mike from HDSdesigns. I have been a longtime modeler (last few years more like a model kit hoarder) and garage kit pattern maker. I worked at MB Models and make numerous patterns for kits and accessories. Some of my biggest projects at MB models was the Russian 203mm tracked...

I offer some of my designs on Cults3D for free. This is a great way to get started in 3D printing if you have just purchased a 3D printer and are a little reluctant to purchase some 3D files until you get some experience under your belt! https://cults3d.com/:1467637
