    Revell '65 Mustang Fastback

Thanks Saul, I don't know why I didn't think of that. It worked to get the CA off well enough. Now to figure out what to do about new plastic cement making old cement release.

Ok, this is drving me nuts. How do I handle this issue? I glued the trunk lip on and let the cement dry and entire day. Now I need to glue the gasket edge on, but when I do the lip cement lets go. I tried using super thin CA glue and let it seep around the lip but it ended up getting on the top...

Rocker panel. I used 2mm card cut 6mm wide then angled about 30 degrees along the outside edge. To build up to the height of the cabin floor I added a strip of 1.5mm square rod to the inner edge followed by 1mm 1/4round strip. So far so good!

Yeah, it's a struggle but I LOVE it.

Little more progress on the pony. I worked on the B pillars. I filled in the gap between the body and back seat with .75mm styrene sheet. There is a slight gap (last photo) that I will fill in the .4mm styrene strip. I went ahead and installed the headliner using Tamiya tape, overlappying 3...

At 62 I agree! I may have made it look easy and look like I know more than I do, but I definitely struggle learning the program. I have a notebook full of notes and Youtube is my best friend. I have purchased online tutorials that have been essential, but have to go back over and over to watch...

    Shooting the breeze

I looked at the Hasegawa Sopwith a few days ago trying to decide which biplane I was going to try first. I don't mind the idea of covering the work with paper honestly. The process of building a plane almost like a real thing would be satisfying. And I would know it was there.

Since I need to remove the tabs of the dash and cut back some of the wall of the kick panels (I think that is what it is called) I also need to ibstall a cross bar and some reinforcement supports. I used a 2.5mm square styrene strip.

Ok, a little actual Mustang work on the trunk. I am making the lip around the edge using .5mm styrene sheet. I curved the corners with a 9/64 bit. Then after a little trimming up I cemented in place That will dry overnight then I will final shape tomorrow.

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Ooo la la! I just got my tiny shipment from Hobbytyme :geekon: This is the RAF S.E.5a I mentioned on the google meeting. Plus glue and paint and files,...and washes, and metallics, and pressure regulatiors, oh my!

For Paul: the difference between object mode and edit mode. I will try to show how changing a mesh in edit mode can affect how it looks in object mode. So, I have created a plane. Going into Edit mode I subdivided the plane into 50 parts Now, in Object mode, I selected Wireframe in the...

Your gun is looking utterly amazing Paul! It doesn't seem to matter how much care I take, scratchbuilding is a labor of frustration. I prefer Blender! As to the surface detail, in this case I simply made an object in Blender that looked like mesh, then duplicated it to 7 layers and offset each...

Very kind to say Pup! I do OK on hard surfaced things, and love doing it.

Next phase, door and trunk removal. I used the back of an Xacto knife for the entire process on this one. Many times I use a little razor saw along with the knife. There were minimal slips this time that should be quite easy to fix

Ok, I am going to attempt another car. My last two have ended badly and unfinished. I hope to somewhat follow the dude from A4 Garage on youtube. This guys has skills I don't fully understand, and I will not set myself up for failure by trying to reach his level, but will do my best to be...

GOOGLE MEET FOR MODELER'S ALLIANCE? Who is in?

It was fun seeing the gang. I am excited about the Gloster Gladiator even more now. Unfortunately my mom was starting a little meltdown when I had to jet. I could't handle it by myself so I had to call in reinforcements 😟
