1/700 Aircraft. I'm stuck in "Teeny" Gear! Zorn!

Additions to TLAR kit #226. Waterline and full hull Boeing 314 Pan Am Clippers and a waterline PBM Mariner hull. I still have a little (?!?) sanding to do before paint.

1/700 Motor Vessel Steyning (sort of!)

Ah, the gray LPP. SOOOO soothing. See all the little details? (Never mind the Cadillac limosine.) My signature is the little hatch in the Lazarette. This is really more the stern of the vessel, but the signature remains the same, even if there is no hatch on the real thing. Dry fit of the...

1/700 Aircraft. I'm stuck in "Teeny" Gear! Zorn!

The castings for the 1/700 Boeing 314 Pan Am Clippers came out swell! :yipee: Both full-hull and waterline, with open hatches, Clippers were molded and cast.

Cool gray castings will go forward from here. The details will be much easier to see.

    1/350 USCG SPC-HWX 52-Foot Motor Lifeboat kit #126

The Barrelback Runabout was configured like that. I think the "Barrelback Racers" had twin cockpits close together with the engine bay astern (in the back of the boat.) A better description can be found than my limited recollections. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris-Craft_Boats

    AI rubbish

Such garbage seems to made by basement dwellers with ZERO historical knowledge of actual aircraft and too many pork rinds. Make a cartoon. fine. Make a LIE, speak to the DOGFY.

    1/350 USCG SPC-HWX 52-Foot Motor Lifeboat kit #126

The 1/350 Chris Craft came out swell! I also molded the chubby, cute Chibi-Maru triple cockpit runabout from a previous failed mold. God alone knows why, but I now produce the only one!

First castings are generally made without pigment, as the mold release sometimes reacts to the pigment, if you rush. (ME?!?) The cream colored LPP makes the details hard(er) to see on teensy new models. Castings that follow will be made in the cool, gray color that model ship guys like best...

1/700 Motor Vessel Steyning (sort of!)

You have a good grasp on the TLAR process, Sir 'Pup! The p/e parts will still leave their impressions in the mold silicone, so if the good Lord's willin' an' the crik don't rise, the castings should reflexively have all the same detail as the Master did. Sometimes I miss a metal bit, and it...

    1/350 USCG SPC-HWX 52-Foot Motor Lifeboat kit #126

I never wanted to make a waterline version of the HWX-SPC, and yet, here we are. Kit 126 will include both versions, a 12-foot fishing boat and a Chris Craft Triple cockpit Runabout. (Because I hadn't decided where they belonged when I made the Masters.) :bm:

Here is what successful mold clearing looks like! Bits of complex model kit EVERYWHERE! It is expected and normal that the RTV will pull some of the p/e details off the Masters. Future is a dandy adhesive, but not strong enough to hang against Mold max 10. Bantu Wind lost quite a bit of her...

    1/350 USCG SPC-HWX 52-Foot Motor Lifeboat kit #126

This morning I cast the new waterline mold for the 1/350 SPC-HWX 52 and my huge water/fuel tank. Along with some Old (?) Faithful molds. 4 more minutes of 60 psi pressure pot to go! Stay tuned, Brothers! More exciting news is sure to come!

    New guy

Having been commission in late 1964, and decommissioned in 1999, Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident missiles are all possibilities. I want to pose my 1/700 version at Montego Bay, servicing Jamaican, JMSDF, and US Navy submarines and submariners. The tool shed may serve a less than nautical...

    Youtube rabbit holes

Long John Silver was my favorite of Tim Curry's many characters. "I raised him (Polly Lobster) from a fingerling, I did!" "Upstage, Lads. This is my only number." God rest you, Tim.

    New guy

Yep! That's the missile deck. The missiles were loaded in sealed capsules. The guys I know called them "Cartridges". Hoisted from tender to the Boat, few crewmen on either vessel knew if there was an actual missile being loaded or not, so neither did the agents of our enemies. I'm also...

In other waterline scale news, bits of Tom's Modelworks P/E set #709 are finding their way onto the Type IXc. The "other" German U-Boat.
