I got the chain from Spain by Decalcas , its smaller than the MFH one so fits better and the chain guard now fits. I wasn't going to be complimentary about the chain construction method but it does actually work and it solved the problem i had so while i dont like it, it did the job and thats...

    Shooting the breeze

In conclusion i think if you want a high detailed cutaway model i think the Hasegawa 1/8 Could be the way to go for ease of build but I think you might need to address the turnbuckle issue as i dont think any of them are correct for the Camel. In 1/16 probably the model airways but be prepaired...

    Shooting the breeze

whats really anoying is i looked at these before and the reviews were scathing. One said the cast metal parts for the engine etc were so bad as to be unusable but i cant find these reviews now to see which model was so bad. If that is the case then this is big money for some balsa :-)

    Shooting the breeze

I love the concept of this but putting all that effort into something that doesn’t fly and is never really finished kills it for me. The wood is obviously laser cut which helps. I remember hours carefully cutting out wing ribs that were just printed on to sheet balsa to build gliders. I used to...

    Wingnut Wing SE.5a

I find it better to decant the paint straight from the bottle to the airbrush and miss the bench part out. :-) that said i do like the effect you are getting on the wings, very tidy.

You can see what i mean by varying the coats you can change the colour depth and of course the undercoat gives you even more shade options. what first struck me with this paint is was how fine the pigment is, on a really smooth surface it goes on like glass. Your colour looks really good , i...

    Protar AJS 7R 350cc (1/9)

I have been notified that the other 3D chain i ordered from Spain will be here Monday, its been held up because we managed to crash our entire air traffic control system last week :) so all flights were delayed or cancelled for a few days. Interesting to note in the small print of the Times...

Decided to try and make a new one. See how this one sits just under the gearbox instead of across the front of it. i happened to have some 4.2mm styrene rod so that was lucky...... My luck does seemed to have changed after a summer of disasters :rotf
