Got the hull halves glued up. The bilge keels on. Rudder on. Replacing the gun barrels with the aftermarket ones. Had to rework the stern torpedo tube. Sanding down more exaggerated weld seams on the lower hull. I've left the one's on the armor belt though as looking at photographs they appear...

I thought that in the process of making the portholes round I had made them to large. After looking at the real ones I think I'm within the acceptable diameter. I think Trumpeters are too small.

Saw one of the vendors is Jef, from Steel Pot Studios. It will be cool to meet him.

"Fixed" the elongated portholes best I can without opening up a can of worms for myself. I've also removed the molded ladders as well as the exaggerated raised panel lines on the tumblehome portion of the hull.

Thanks Paul. It gives me some ideas 👍 The portholes on the Tserasivich appear to be half the size of the ones on your Arizona.

Ah! The I pad 😁 (my TV in the workroom) It's on when I'm in there for background noise.

They are supposed to be round. I read that because of the slide mold the portholes are distorted where the tumblehome hull is at it's most severe? Idk. As much as I try to ignore it I can't. Not sure what I need to do to correct it, yet.

Dry fit of the hull and deck. It looks good. I've decided not to use the aftermarket printed wood deck. The main reason is as thin as it is it still that thick above the hull's sides. I'm not going to get to ticky over details on this build, however theres some things I'll change. One is the...

First time I'd been in the warehouse. It's mind boggling actually. Must have been a half dozen pickers pushing carts up and down aisles getting online orders. It's a large place. When I mentioned I'm going to order the gun upgrade kit for the Tserasivich the owner said we have that, so it was...

It's nice having a world wide model distributor warehouse like SQUADRON HOBBIES just 14 miles from the house. I'm back from picking up the kit, a new roll of fine E-Z line and the gun barrel upgrade set. The fun part was getting to go into the warehouse and get it. With over 2 thousand model...

Taking a break from big scale land armor, I'm changing things up with a little sea armor. The French built Russian battleship "Tserasivich". Launched in 1901. It had a rather sketchy life that included a good 'ol mutiny. Trumpeter offers two versions of the ship, 1904 or 1917. I'm doing the 1904...

    Possibly my new obsession...

It made quick work of eliminating a 3' wide 2' high 30ft long dirt burm I got tired of mowing around. It's an older restoration. He uses it like a Mule. Definitely more stylish than the 8n. Not sure how rare they are. Maybe being Ford's 50 year anniversary model might add a little something?

Neighbor's 1953 Ford Golden Jubilee with our '51 8n. He let me borrow it with the box Blade attachment for a job I wanted to do. I just had to get some pics of the two together. The Jubilee is quite a different animal with more power and lower gearing.

    Possibly my new obsession...

I doubt there's a lot of interest in old rotary cutters. I'd like to know what brand and just how old it is, though.
