Top wing ready for a pin wash and a flat coat. I got smart and started rigging the control horns before installing. Also Paddy inspired me to create my own anchor with 24 gauge wire loop and drilled thru the pre punch hole for the rigging. Yeah, don't worry about the machine guns...there are...

Put some siderails on top so those ladders don't go sliding off. A coiled up drop cord would be cool. :popcorn

How much weathering would doped fabric get? Fading for sure, patches from torn fabric. The decals for Dr1, 127/17 has the insignia on the rudder showing the cdl with a blue hue. Really very neat. I'll get a shot of it later.

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Always interesting to see the cockpit lay out. Take the LHS panel on the F rear. 20 and 21 are interchangeable. 20, Pilot relief container. 21 Special Weapon breaker panel. Seems to me if you're flippin' them Special Weapons on you're gonna need that relief container!

Barney makes something! (be still my heart)

I've said a long time that those old HO scale buildings would be great weathering technique practice. Then I checked current prices and woof!.

Yeah you're not going to do that with all these kits. The rigging on the cabane struts go into the struts themselves not the wing so I'm going to do that. I need to get decals on the top wing and rig the ailerons, it's time to put a flat coat on this to knock down the shine.

Yep, the way I read it those paint jobs were changing constantly. 127/17 was the one that ended up in the Museum in Berlin, photos of it there show the incomplete paint job. It was destroyed during bombing in WW2.

The engineering on this kit is outstanding. Notice this is just hanging on the cabane struts, the outer struts are not in position yet.

Wow, I haven't heard of this happening to the WnW stuff but I suppose it could happen to any batch. Shouldn't be much of a task to mask?
