Ok my friends, I need advice. I am going to display the Apache with the avionics panels open and the blades in the stowed position. I need to know what other accessories would or would not be on the helicopter in such a scenario please. I am reasonably certain there would be no ordnance onboard...

Steve, I am blown away. This is my favorite dio all time. Words fall short to tell how awestruck I am for the entire thing. Excellent. Professional. Work!

Progress: I will try to explain what I did. I will admit that the pattern is not 100% accurate to the provided paint scheme photo suggested. It got confusing, so I eventually invoked artistic license priviledges. It looks cool though. The colors I used were as follows. Tan: based with Vallejo...

I am improving physically. I have not taken pain meds for 3 days and have not needed them. Gail made me take some tonight hoping it will let me sleep. My legs still wobble, and I walk like a drunk man rather than someone with cerebral palsey which is an improvement. If my legs don't revcover...

That's what the therapist said before each walk. "Remember, no matter how far we go, you have to walk back"LOL

Yeah. Just walking though. Supposed to walk a little further each day.

Thanks everyone! The surgery went well. I asked the surgeon to please fuse to the base of my skull. He strongly advised against it, so I guess I will see him around this time next year. I got home around noon on Friday. The only pain I feel is from the stem to stern incision. What pain I do...

I have been MIA because I am in the hospital awaiting my evidently "yearly" major back surgery. I should be back at the table in a couple of weeks.

I had to trim the window divider down so the canooy would seat properly. Fortunaly I had read in two other threads that this would need to be done so I marked that on the intructions so I wouldn't forget. I trimmed a little over 2mm off the bottom. There are more parts to add on the inside of...

Not to highjack the thread about lightfast materials, but we do want our art to last. Krylon and Winsor Newton make spray varnish with UV blockers. Look for the word Archival on the label. Krylon's actually says "UV Resistant Clear" right on the can.

If it has a UV blocker in it then the answer is "yes, a little". I always chuckle when I see celebs signing things with a sharpie. Good luck keeping that for more than a year or two unless you keep it hidden in a drawer.

I dipped the canopy pieces in AK Gauzy then lay them to dry covered by a box to keep dust from settling. They seemed very clear afterward. I then applied the canopy masks (provided with the kit). I only wish they had numbered the tape pieces to correspond to numbers on the instruction sheet. It...

It is most likely operator error. Insufficient knowledge, as it were. I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to keep all 7 parts from dancing around as I tried to hold them together while laying it down to dry.

Love the graphics on "The Bug". An artist did that one for sure.

Fabulous! This is a fun thread to read through. FYI from a guy who knows and sells art supplies. Sharpies are not "lightfast" and will fade very quickly. (Write something on anything and set it outside- it will be gone in 2 weeks. Red fades fastest) They call them "permanent" because it won't...
