    Carved out the base, brushed on some white acrylic craft paint. Coated with sculptamold. - (its a plaster/fiber mix) Sanded the rough spots, added a layer of spackling smoothed with water. Cut the grass.........

    The foam board is 1 inch styrofoam insulation from your friendly neighborhood building supply store. ( Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) About $12.00 for a 4' x 8' sheet. Let's see....cheap, enough for plenty of bases, easy to carve, sand, paint. Light weight, doesn't warp like plywood. Think - stacked...

    Working on the base - stained oak trim to frame the foam. Sanding and contouring the foam and added a coat of sculptamold. This stuff takes forever to dry. Put it on at 10am and its still damp 14 hours later. Nuts! Pics to follow. Mike B)

    I'd try blending in the seams on the MG cover, overall it looks good. If the seams still won't blend in, then pop the cover and putty it. Tryin match the surrounding zim might be a bit tricky. Mike
