    F4U-1A * * F I N I S H E D * * Now with 'scenery'

F4U-1A You know, I WAS going to say that your pre-shading felt too stark and too regular, but it turned out beautifully. I'm glad you used enough paint to colour over it well. That's such a beautiful little kit.

    1/48 SB2U-3 Vindicator

Oh a good old Wind-indicator. I was wondering if I was the only one who bought this esoteric subject.

    Revell Ju 88 A1 in 1/32nd scale

A Quality Build of a Revell Ju 88 A1 Great looking build Paul. I'm excited to see your next installment.

**FINISHED** Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log Thanks guys, you are too kind. I'm just making steady progress, tackling one problem at a time just like Chuck has taught us. Some days I would prefer to hammer than to coax, but they tell me patience is a virtue. I hope it comes out well, it's really starting...

**FINISHED** Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log Sorry guys, I was on vacation last week so I only have an update for you now. The wings are on! Permanently. Either I'm doing this all wrong, or I've found another area where the kit is poorly engineered. All the parts fit in theory, but the actual exercise...

Gluing a resin piece to basswood...

I like this, helpful and you even provided a source, then I remembered that Canadian Home Depots don't carry anything useful ever. I recent asked an associate where I could find their Pockethole Jigs - for a modelling project to be unveiled later - and he said 'we wouldn't have that, we're not...

    Anyone dare me?

Scratch build it with solder and foil all the joints. :fencing

    F4U-1A * * F I N I S H E D * * Now with 'scenery'

F4U-1A Just a few years ago I gave up on my Aztek, I never liked it all that much. I upgraded to an Iwata CM-C+ and with proper care and cleaning it still feels as good as the day I brought it home. And yes their superlube is great stuff.

Curtiss P-6E Hawk 1/32 Silver Wings

I hate you for making me want one more. I'm already staging a coup for a second Typhoon or a second Tamiya Mustang. Adding this would likely get me killed. :tomato

    THE "UNBUILDABLE" KIT?

lol that the folks on alphabet aircraft are grumpy old dicks, so now I spend my time here and on Aeroscale because you're all good people and I've had a much better experience here.

    THE "UNBUILDABLE" KIT?

Well suffice to say I haven't posted there since that thread lol. Now I hang out with you nice guys.

    THE "UNBUILDABLE" KIT?

My apologies, I was hopping on a similar train but in the wrong direction. I agree with what you say - I had a guy on j aircraft (of course) argue with me over the colour I painted the navigator's table in my G4M (keeping in mind there is only one "surviving" fuselage) because the shade of a...

**FINISHED** Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log That's weird, I could have sworn I learned the technique from you  Now on to the wings I go - which don't fit and you can't apply pressure to them because the nacelles pop out - or now that they're glued, probably break. We need that emoticon of the...

    THE "UNBUILDABLE" KIT?

Do people actually still use Photobucket? I urge everyone to use imgur - it's super easy, no membership required, accepts multiple file select and even has a quick copy function (once you've uploaded a photo, where it says BBCODE there's a small icon, click it and it copy's the bbcode to your...

    THE "UNBUILDABLE" KIT?

COUNTERPOINT I can't stand it when a new modeller posts a build online and asks for critique because they want to improve and everyone just blows smoke because they can't be bothered to properly phrase some helpful advice. Yes I know there's a way to say or not say just about everything, but...

    Badger airbrush service

And here I was hoping this was a question so I could make a snide remark about the poor service I received and how the best Badger service was that they convinced me to switch to Iwata. I'm glad they did right by you. It's a shame that good customer service is such a dying art.

**FINISHED** Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log Ahhh progress :drinks Today's update will be a step by step (get that song out of my head pls) on shimming. The problem here begins with the Nacelles. They're one of the few parts that have a means of fitting positively and squarely - a series of walls in...

**FINISHED** Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log this forum really needs a multiquote function Thanks Bob. I wish i had one i could have referenced. Same here but i generally know which part will be painted which colour. I just find some odd looking callouts and have to go look them up.

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log Thank you James. You know, I've always had a softspot for that kit. It is a lot of fun to build and everything fits

**FINISHED** Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito build log Print? :rotf Nah I just look them up one at a time. I know I could get a chart, my point was more that for a high end kit with a price point of $200, the least they could do is write a proper set of instructions.
