Bachem Ba 349 Natter 1/48 Dragon kit

Thanks Ian! Gunze paint thinned at 80/20 with extra retarder added to the thinner. Sprayed at max pressure with my Iawata Revolution, 3mm nozzle. A 2mm nozzle or 1.8 would be better but I haven't invested in a better airbrush yet... M

Bachem Ba 349 Natter 1/48 Dragon kit

Slow but steady... After primer coat, a pic shot w/o flash with the model under the desk lamp to see where the shadows fall. We'll try and play around with modulation. Pre-shading based on the above reference pic. Then it's a base coat of RLM 76 followed by more paint modulation to...

Bachem Ba 349 Natter 1/48 Dragon kit

Priming is done and base color is next. Except for last minute changes that should be RLM 76 followed by squiggles in one or another shade of RLM green. In the meantime some pics of the pit. Rather bare but so was the real thing. Except for a few scratched details it’s OOB. I tried the new...

Here's a pic of a model (not mine) with the pole launcher. The pole was fixed into a circular concrete base (not shown on this dio).

Bachem Ba 349 Natter 1/48 Dragon kit

Thank you guys! :drinks Christian, this is not the launch tower used for the test flights but the much simpler pole launcher that was to be used operationally. Fortunately for me... :v Heavens Eagle, per the doc I read the hoisting onto the rack was a rather delicate operation followed by...

Bachem Ba 349 Natter 1/48 Dragon kit

That’s the baby I’m working on at the moment. Assembly is quite straightforward. The cockpit is a simple affair (pics coming soon) and the absence of landing gear simplifies things. On the other hand there’s the launching pole, which is a small kit in itself. But that’s for later. Right now I...

    1/48 Do 217E-5

Excellent work and well done for the perseverance! :notworthy: Finishing one’s first kit is no small achievement. I should know: after 11 years since I came back to the hobby my first 4 kits are still there, in some boxes under the pile... :bgrin

Edurard 1/72 Fokker Dr.I, stripdown version

Isn't it exactly 100 years since the Fokker Dr.I was introduced? Right on time I am, then! :bgrin As far as kits go there are good kits, very good kits and then there is the Eduard Stripdown Limited Edition kit. Opening the box was like...well I haven't felt like that since when I received the...

    Kitty Hawk XF5U-1 in 1/48

This is the Chance Vought XF5U-1, called the Flying Flapjack. Of course Flying Flapjack is not the a/c's official name. Its real name is the Flying Pancake. :bgrin This is my first Kitty Hawk kit. So far so good. Here's the so far: :captain M
