    Thanks Ian!

You're good Paul and on the mark. I knew it wasn't going to fly as soon as I pulled the masks off. It's only the 6th time I've painted over failed attempts at the numbers. It gets frustrating, but I'm refining the masks for another try.

    Eric’s Workbench~2026

Speaking of AI, I was blown away by this guy's modeling and started following his page, only to find out the whole scene is AI created 🙄 Congrats on the new workspace errains!

It just doesn't seem to want to come together and it's kind of sloppy work. I'll finish it at some point, though.

Yeah. I think I'm going shelf this thing for awhile.

Ended up airbrushing the numbers on. Not great, but not so terrible either. Now for the turret sides...

Of course NOT. However given this new issue with the markings I did press on the visors hoping the glue might not of held...you know, like it never does when you need it to...🙃

So I need to add the markings before I continue. The decals provided for the 5th SS Panzer Wiking are not going to work around the visors on the turret, I tried. So now I'm laying the numbers out to free hand them. My wife, sensing I was stressed suggesting that maybe I should try something...

Hold my beer! I've had good results spraying Vallejo on models in the past. But on this build when their Dunkelgelb started spitting chunks on the model I decided it was time to look for something else. The Tamiya thinned to the ball park of skim milk, like I'd thin the Vallejo was smooth as silk.

I saw an online hack where a guy made an adapter to shake model paint on his saws all...lol.

Well, it's not snowing, but we're getting 5 inches of rain and supposed to get high winds that I ain't seen yet. The wind is our issue as here in the holler somebody's tree always falls on a power line. It was one of our trees last year...🙃 Knocked the juice out for a chunk of the county...

It's nasty weather over here anyway Paul. Chances are you'd end up sitting in a backup on I-24 because there's bound to be a crash or two.

I'm using a Iwata hp-cs. Most of the time the pressure is at 20 psi. My old Thayer & Chandler quit on me several years ago. It had a .2 needle and was a Ferrari when spraying out lacquer thinned paint.

Thanks for that info Ian. I was thinking that that's how they would've done it. I am purposely trying to make this tank field painted. Like leaving the inside of the idlers and sprockets dunklegrau as well as along the bottom of the hull sides. It's a bit difficult because it comes of looking...

It's mind boggling the difference the Tamiya makes.

I could get the job done with the Valleyo, but it was always a struggle. Sometimes I'd have to break down the brush a few times during a session. After using Tamiya for the first time on this build I'm just shocked at the difference their paint made. It's effortless. I was happy I wanted to take...

Yes. I use their thinner and retarder. I can get the darker colors to spray out okay, but even those can become a bit of a hassle. Airbrushing had become more of a chore than anything.

Yep. I admit I've never used Tamiya paint. Mainly because I could get Vallejo at Hobby Lobby, the only "hobby" store in our area, till Sqaudron opened their headquarters here recently. I just thought there was something wrong with my airbrush. Now I can lay down a pencil thin perfect line. I...
