    Lathe

Thanks Bob, the problem with the 150 is it doesnt have a powered lead screw so you can screw cut :-(

    Lathe

I dont think i would need a 4 jaw but i agree it would be wise to make sure they are available should i decide to turn square stock top round :) I doubt these micro lathes would be capable of turning an interrupted cut anyway. I think i would need a bench grinder for tools, an interchangeable...

    What next ?

The MFH car is all but finished but i am waiting on some micro springs for the exhaust, no doubt i will end up winding them myself but lets see what MFH can offer, its next day delivery from the UK. I do have a guy waiting for a Spitfire but i am not feeling it at the moment and no point in...

    Lathe

I have been pondering a model makers lathe for a while and i am sure i have broached the subject before because i remember Chris posting pictures of his collet based watchmakers lathe. Its one of those things i struggle with as i am not sure i would get the value from it. It may present...

Another stroke of luck tonight. I taped the rear in position, looked underneath and the new bracket i made moving the hinge point approx. 11mm lined up perfectly :-). And i didnt even have my fingers crossed..... You know its looking increasingly like i might win this battle :-) Could it be...

What I have found with these MFH kits is they are ultra precise. Parts fit to the thousands of an inch. If the 100 parts you have already assembled are spot on the 101 part will fit. If it doesn’t its 99.9% going to be your fault. Things like the turned alloy headlamp reflectors slide perfectly...

    MFH Abarth 1000-SP 1/12 FINISHED

tonight i got the last of the vac form fitted over the lights, it held in place with four .5mm rivets which are in blind holes , its quite tricky trying to manoeuvre .5mm rivets with a dob of CA on the end into .5mm holes through clear vac into the body knowing if you dont get the holes lined...

    MFH Abarth 1000-SP 1/12 FINISHED

I will figure it out, the main problem is you can test fit the front on chassis and bend all sorts of parts and not be aware as its all so soft and delicate. I am trying not to remove parts that will never be seen to make the fit easier as i think its me failing not the kit :-). The important...

    MFH Abarth 1000-SP 1/12 FINISHED

Every good story needs jeopardy and this one has loads.....like i cant even begin to get the front section to fit at this point :-( When you look at the above the whole front section has to clip in and align at about 30 different points, i may need to lose those pins on the top of the wheel arch...

    MFH Abarth 1000-SP 1/12 FINISHED

yes i can see the principle particularly the need for the surface of the tips to be flat and parallel to each other. I need to put some thought into the best way to do this and i can also see the need to start with something a bit more substantial than i have if i am going to put the time in...

    MFH Abarth 1000-SP 1/12 FINISHED

Thanks for that Paul, i need to read your full text on the link I think a lot of the problem i have is the length from tip to weald is too long so the amount of sideways flex is to great allowing the tips to just cross I might drill through the hajndles and rivet them to reduce the...
