Thanks BroSki , thanks James , that's one heck of a nice comment !!! Lotsa pics . When viewing the pics I thought the ladder was a tad to large but then I remembered the 28 foot wooden two man ladder I used when I first worked in the phone co. and said to meself ........... nah .

    One Down One to Go

Lol , good idea Saul . H. Eagle , thanks man , the posts are bolted down to the bed , no need for another support wire . I already tested anchoring the rear wheels to the base and putting a load on the front boom , slack pronlem solved . I'm waiting on some more vehicles I ordered so in the...

    One Down One to Go

Yeah , I would think you're right Pup , only thing is in the first two ref pics it looks like that cable is anchored to the cab roof . The military version looks like the cables are just run to the last tie down hooks on the bed . Like I said Rufus , Bubba , Daryll and Coop built the thing so...

    One Down One to Go

Thanks Pup , thanks Rhino , if you look closely at the ref pics the boom appears to be just held against a piece of angle iron by a rounded strap with four bolts . Then there's a cable that goes from the top of the boom to somewhere in the back of the truck , is there a winch back there to raise...

    One Down One to Go

Decided to go with the already built Italeri M32 boom , just cut it down some . I had Rufus , Darryl and Coop give it an OSHA Redneck inspection and it's good to go . Still want to goop some more super glue at the boom bases to replicate some mushy welds .

    One Down One to Go

Thanks guys , here's the mystery field mod . I took the boom from Italeri's M32 kit , or maybe I'll scratch one or just cut this part down . A guy in Alaska has a G506 bone yard . He has no idea who made the conversion or for what purpose it was used for . His guess is Alaskan DPW/road...

Battle of Normandy - Canadian Sector

Beautiful build Rich !!! Cork and spackle/plaster absorb paint at different levels and tones making for some very interesting natural patterns . Not saying you should not have used a clear coat , just saying . Try it on some test cork and spackle bits .

Rhino , thanks man , Letterman ? , I wouldn't go that far , I couldn't shine Bob's shoes . Some more progress , going is slow though , been doing a lot of day and night surf fishing , on the beach surf fishing under a full moon , priceless !!! Loving this kit , only down side is the p.e...

    One Down One to Go

I had more eye surgery on the 10th this past Thursday , so the intricate small work on the truck is on hold till the cloudiness in my left eye clears up . However the build needs concrete parking lots/driveways so I tackled that , it's large enough to work on . Disclaimer : This is not my...

    One Down One to Go

Pup , this is one extremely detailed kit . You literally build it from the frame up just like in the Chevy factory . Lotsa small intimidating parts . The good news is the fit is amazingly good . I was worried about the frame and wheel base being straight/square/level . Only minor eyeballing was...
