    I could totally see doing this in oils instead of any other mediums, you're just not going to blend acrylics like you can oils. IMHO.

    I never laid hand on the zuni pods but I did study the books. @Steve Ski was it the CDC test? I think those marking were alignment marks for where the loading tray would fit, rather where the pod would fit the tray. Center alignment marks so to say.
