New 1/48 Kits Coming From HK Models

The new one is in honor of the AMT A-20B I have under way!

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

Got all the masking on the windows today, wings are on, engines stuck into the cowls and metal prop shafts and bearings done. In the R/C department got an Ugly Stik all tuned up with a nice test flight and on board ignition installed on a giant scale Stearman, nearly done with the same on a...

Glad to hear you came out OK with the storm, Bob. Fine work on that Lee!

    Fun

To be fair, I did have a 65 E Type at the same time....

    Fun

I had a 66 Caprice with a 327. It wasn't a slug but I wouldn't really call it fast. Maybe with a 409, if they came with that. It was a nice driving car, much better than the 67.

Can You See Me Now? - 49th TES B-52H

Yeah, no worries about stealth with the Buff!

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

More progress, now that I have all the cockpit stuff figured out. Had to build up the landing gear so I could figure out how much weight to add. It seemed easiest to build it in place, as there was warpage and one are two minor breaks, these are very delicate parts. Would have been nice to...

    Death and Devestation in WNC

The pictures of the damage are just surreal. My sympathies to all those affected.

    What next

My focus is on building a museum, so the trade off between detail and completion is defined by that. If the model is something a casual but modeling savvy person can appreciate, then I am pretty much satisfied. I'd rather build important or interesting models than super detailed ones.

    Eduard 1/32 P-51B New Tool

I hope they get it right, they should sell plenty of them if they do, and probably also if they don't.

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

That's a nice engine. I'm in a keep it simple mood at the moment, though. The Vector cockpit is more than enough on this one. Trying to figure out how to fit the instrument panel right now. Not simple!

Very interested to hear others opinions ?

I like Doog's approach. What he said at the last rings true to me: "In short, my issue with all the panel shading nonsense is that it only pays attention to a specific feature of the aircraft’s surface, at the expense of the rest. As nice as the rest of the work may be, it’s a distracting and...

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

I have been making slow progress on this one. Time has been going into my R/C activities and some work building a brick patio, but I sense this one will come together soon. Most of the interior work is done. I added the Vector resin and PE interior parts, and took some time to make resin...

M20 ARMORED UTILITY CAR 1/48 SCALE

Definitely up to your standards! I like the figures in that kit.

Looks like a work truck, Bob.

    Tamiya Grumman F-14D Tomcat

Lots of detail there Greg. I think your photos need more light, there is lots of noise in the image and that is usually because of a high ISO setting. Brighter light means lower ISO and less noise.
