    Hasegawa 1/48 F-86F-30

Thanks for the interest, everyone. I have been working on interior bits. People seem to have problems with the nose "cone" fitting. It does seem to be a bit large but that won't be too hard to deal with. Also, issues were noted with getting the cone properly aligned with the inlet duct if...

    Testors 1/48 U-2C as a U-2F

I have added a fairing to the tail cone that seems to be fitted to the CIA U-C's, made from a slice of brass tubing attached with superglue followed by epoxysculpt filler. The engine air inlet ducts have been added, with green zinc chromate sprayed in the interiors before the front of the duct...

    Hasegawa 1/48 F-86F-30

This is another one for the Rowland Freedom Center, and also to be an in flight display. Hasegawa issued the RF-86F as a -40 with the longer wing, probably because that was the version Japan operated. Since I am making an earlier Project Haymaker RF-86F-30 I took the resin conversion parts...

    Testors 1/48 U-2C as a U-2F

I'm doing this one and an RF-86F for the museum where Solano Scale Modelers meets once per month. Here's that club's website: https://goldeneramodel.com/SCSM1/SCSM1.html I recently started managing the web site and we be adding more current affairs type club content to it as time goes on. I...

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

Thanks, Chris! Just looks like an airplane I'd like to be friends with. I used to know a fellow who flew them in WW II, he liked it very much.

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

Thanks, everyone. It's one of those kits we always intend to build but finds it hard to get to the top of the pile. So now this one has, but the C, G, J, and P-70 still rumble from bowels of the stash. Here's some pictures. At the end is a couple with an Accurate Miniatures B-25C and P-51A...

Still have two gun muzzles to put in the sides of the nose but other than that it is time for me to quit on this one.

I have 3 kits to choose from for the Brit decals, Saul, so I am good. But thanks for the offer.

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

After some back and forth the decals are on. The decals on the kit worked about half right. Some worked and the others were removed with masking tape after going all the way up to Walthers Solvaset and in some cases Tamiya Extra Thin. A combination of ALPS printed replacements and part of the...

    Wake Island Wildcat

Yeah, I did that with the Monogram kit and it was a lot of work, made worse by the fact that all the -3's were still in lake Michigan so there were only old photos for reference. And in the middle right after I got the wings done Tamiya issued their F4F-4 and I used a bunch of parts from it to...

    AMT 1/48 A-20B

More progress on the A-20. Boring OD and NG scheme, but I did use two different OD's. Maybe some staining and weathering will liven it up some. It has been a nice fitting kit once I got past the cockpit additions.
