Baby- AMT's Supernatural 1967 Chevy Impala

My first was a '72 Monte Carlo. White with white vinyl top. Bench seats front and back with no obstructions. GREAT for making out LOL. They were black cloth seats though so they stained easily 😇. Fastest I ever dared go was 120mph before good sense kicked in. Who knows how fast it would go. Man...

Jules- Get me to my ship!

Hi guys, I finished another figure. Actually, I am working on four at once! this is the first finished. Her name is Jules. Sculpted by Ben Douglas of Ritual Casting and printed by my Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra 12K. Her planet is under attack by....who knows what. She escaped the initial barrage with...

https://blendermarket.com/products/3d-cars-inside-and-out-in-blender It is basically how to model a car from the outside in with full interior. There are so many shortcuts and methods I have learned already that the training would have been a bargain at triple the price. The guy is a very good...

Baby- AMT's Supernatural 1967 Chevy Impala

Merry Christmas and happy New ayear all! I have bees very busy with training, kearning hiw to make better car bodies. There are 37 chapters and each has 6 to 19 videos. I am on chapter 4, episide 11 (of 17). I have learned a crap ton and was worth the $42 investment. The car has not been...

I can see a 3D print project coming up LOL. All that stuff you said never occurred to me! I do NOT have a good 3D scanner although my best friend and I were talking about "wouldn't it be great" just yesterday.

You call it something else I am sure. UHU putty? Sticky putty? Museum's use it and we used it in our Antique mall to keep lids on pottery and glass jars and they call it museum putty.

That would be more accurate and I thought about it but opted for strength instead. I probably didn't need to but was a judgement call. I think it's an "OK" representation. I printed the trailer out and it came out better than I had even hoped! Well, I was hoping the tie down hooks would be...

3D progress on the Scout. I have the outer shell nearly done! I am finishing up the body but all of the other pieces (hood, tailgate, rear window, doors, floor) have all been finished. The only other parts I can think of are the dash and the exhaust system. As I have worked on the body I have...

Baby- AMT's Supernatural 1967 Chevy Impala

Gotta admit I have been doing almost 100% 3D modeling of the Scout lately. Very little time at the model table. What I HAVE done has been good though. I have the door posts in. I ended up plastic cementing with Testors cement then reinforcing with JB Weld black. They "seem quite sturdy. I have...

    Pocher Rolls Royce Phantom 1:8

That first picture looks like totally real 1:1 car parts! I had an ultrasonic cleaner....I wonder where that sucker went?....

    "Thousand Yard Stare" Vietnam 1967

This is just fantastic. Man, what a tribute. A story in miniature, that needs no explaining.

Ok, better photos here showing more detail.

Ok, I beams and Channels as thin as I dared. Tie down hooks in place all around. The end blocks for the springs are modified some but still a little unrealistic for strength.

D ring from scratch. I cheated though and used the spring U bolt and indivudual bolt heads I had already created for the Scout. I just had to make a plate and add the bolt eyes then resize pieces and join it all together.

The square design is for printing strength as channel or I beam would be mighty thin but I can look at it again. The spring blocks instead of two supports are for printing strength as well. I thought about the wiring holes for a while befire putting them in. I know they wouldn't be on the real...

Are the tirme downs OK before I add them down the sides. And I think what is confusing is being able to see the lines. They don't print but are part of the geometry.

Yes. Would it be on top of the V rails or inside like I have it?

I took the reflector spaces out so the cross bar is just on the inside of the rails. Would it be on top of the outer rails instead of inside?

    3D Printing and Blender files

I think the reflector spots on the outside of the outer beam make the crossmember look cut in. I can get rid of those. Would it be welded on top and not on the inside? Also, where to the D rings go? I am thinking they would go in recessed openings in the deck?
