Monty Python and the Holy Grail

When i was in engineering we had a guy who would take the stance of holding the reigns and trotting around the workshop when he did his rounds, always brought a smile to us :-) Didn't have a serf with coconuts though....

1971 Tamiya blast from the past

This one is not so easy as i will have to make a jig to hold the hub , centre to the rim and at the right height to get the right off set., hubs are rarely in line with the rim on the rear.

    M3 Lee Lulubelle

Strangely it was the mini art interior Grant i built that finished me on armour :) I dont think i have ever spent so much time and trouble on something that would never be seen again. It was a shame i couldn't leave the top as removable but it was such a bad fit the only way to get it to sit in...

1971 Tamiya blast from the past

So this is Tamiya's 1:6 Honda 750 race bike. Its a bit of an oddity and was always in the shadow of their CB750 classic road bike. The modal dates from 1971 so lets see how it stands up today. First thing you notice, or at least i did, is the wheel rims are wrong. the picture on the box is...

    3D printing

I spoke to the guy that did the 3d printed spoke wheels on my recent Alfa build and he said its a non starter for the chain, 3D would be too brittle and weak in this scale.

    3D printing

I spent a few hours today looking at ways to assemble a MFH 1/9 motorcycle chain following on from yesterdays post. I opened or should i say cleaned up the holes in the jig and made sure the parts fitted perfectly and tried again. I did end up with a small section complete but i need 5 sections...
