    Revell Aerospatiale Alouette II FINISHED

strange thing is that chart says xtracolor X27 and there doesnt seem to be an X27 :-) X81 in Tamiya is a good green but its an RAF colour and the Army colours are different, its probably not too far off Bobs triplane in colour ?

    Revell Aerospatiale Alouette II FINISHED

Not sure why the guy went for a brass tail unless he was correcting a fault but by going for 1mm ands 0.9mm i think he created a fault. The kit is 1.4mm and 1mm which is proportionately nearer the differential in size of the main frame v the bracings' To scale the original plastic would be 44mm...

    Revell Aerospatiale Alouette II FINISHED

Hi Bob, no other builds on the go mate, the Brough is finished. Alouette colours are odd. they range from RAF Green to olive drab and even 3 diferent greens. I in fairness the army/RAF were always changing base colours over the decades so i will go with this which is a picture from 1971 as...

    Revell Aerospatiale Alouette II FINISHED

First thing was to mock up the canopy as this seems to be the issue won other builds. Maybe i am lucky or maybe my early model is better than the later re issues but while i can see its not going to be easy, i dont see anything insurmountable at thisn stage There is actually 8 pieces to this...

    Revell Aerospatiale Alouette II FINISHED

As Monty Python used to say…..And now for something completely different XP966 in 1964 and 1976 This is Revells 1/32 Aerospatiale Alouette II From 1996 . A quick look at Britmodeler for advice, (I got chucked of that site so I can only look) shows about 7 build blogs over 11 years...

    Wingnut Wings Sopwith Triplane

When i built my Sopwith Pup i made up some simple turnbuckles but i am not sure they use them on the triplane looking at the pictures on your link ? it must have been a nightmare setting these things up in production. We have a TV prog here called warplane workshop where a group of...

    New Tool from Dspiae

Hi Paul If this was Tamiya i would see no excuse however this is a niche, very low volume, model maker making very rare unusual models the mainstream manufacturers wouldn't touch.. These sell out on pre orders. Reading the reviews, all put up by people like you and me, these models improve...

    New Tool from Dspiae

All i can say is with the bikes the centre stand and side stand will not hold the weight of the bike... what is alarming is they appear too for a day or two but they do slowly bend and then collapse. If the bike is allowed to fall over under its own weight it will bend the foot rests and if they...

My skills ?..lol I just unwrapped the new MFH car that arrived today , looked it over carefully, put it back in its box and wrapped it up again, its now in the back of the cupboard :) I know when i am beaten before i start🤣 First problem i can see is the metal suspension, especially the...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I decided that having built a coup0le of MFH motorcycles I would like to try one of their cars.. Nothing MFH is cheap however my last restoration of a Brough Superior motorcycle has left me with a brand new in its box model of the Brough, surplus so my plan is to ebay it and get 90% of the cost...

    New Tool from Dspiae

The tool i would like is a contraption for holding motorcycle models. especially 1/9 scale. It would really need to clamp the tyres i think as the variation in the rest of bikes would make anything universal a compromise. They do make a 1/12 clamp but its awkward and designed for light weight...

    New Tool from Dspiae

From the looks of it. its not going to automatically self centre. It will do on the horizontal axis bit you will have to measure the dia of your rod and manually set the height /vertical axis. TBH i dont like the idea of using aluminium for a mitre bock which will be softer than the steel saw

    New Tool from Dspiae

Obviously $48 is not the same a s $1000 but having spent a lifetime with an entire fully equipped machine shop at my disposal it can be frustrating not having that anymore but truth is the machine is only the start..then you need the tools like a car needs gas :-) You can buy a cheap milling...
