GOOGLE MEET FOR MODELER'S ALLIANCE? Who is in?

Sorry to hear that Barney. I have seen and heard stories like this for years and it is one of the main reasons that I am still single and happy being so.

Who has the quad 50 on a half track?

    3D CAD for Scale Modelers

I think most people are using Blender as it is basically free and there is a guy that teaches how to use it if you are interested.

    3D CAD for Scale Modelers

I looked on his site John and it isn't mentioned. I suspect the Rhino3D program with the $900+ cost was the killer on doing the class.

Didn't know you were going through that John. Glad to see you posting and building again. Keep up with the struggle, we are all pulling for you!

Das Werk 7.5cm Pak 40 in 1/16th scale

Well this is turning into a saga or a pain. It is now obvious that they had someone doing the 3D work that had difficulty visualizing what they were doing. A lot of complex angles and items that had to work together and that guy buggered it. SO, I was done with my little mods to add the...

@paddy Missed you at the chat we had this morning over google chat mate. Maybe next time. Yeah, I did a fix/upgrade on a tool I bought the other day and drilled and tapped some holes to put in set screws to take up some extra slack. Turned out no one had any #2-56 set screws in the area, so...

GOOGLE MEET FOR MODELER'S ALLIANCE? Who is in?

Really enjoyed the visit with everyone. It is great getting to put faces and voices with the names that I see on this forum everyday. I loved all the painting tips that Ian was sharing. Like his local mate I also like the building part but not the painting so much. I keep working on it...

Das Werk 7.5cm Pak 40 in 1/16th scale

I posted earlier in the week about the omitted parts. Here is an update. I was able to get the major parts all done and made. I still have 3 of the minor ones to do and a bunch of nuts and bolts to do. Might look into ordering some as this is probably going to be a thing with these big kits...

Panzer III Ausf J. Das Werks, 1/16 scale.

James I have been enjoying the fire out of building the Pak 40. Can hardly wait to finish it, then I have an 8 wheel car, 3 half tracks, a Stug and the Panzer 3 as well as a Kubelwagen. I wish I had bought a couple more of the 1/16th Revell 1950 Beetles as I have some things that could be done...

Been working on my Pak 40 and the fireworks in my neighborhood have started up. No real reason to go anywhere today. I think you will be surprised at the parts I made for the Pak 40 that were missing. The only thing I kind of need now are nut and bolt heads. A bunch.

I get it Paddy, I really do. Here in the US we have our standard, then there is the metrics. As a watchmaker there are a bunch of micro metric threads that seem to have become the standards. I am so used to all of them that I swap between with little trouble. I suspect it will probably stay...

Yeah, they usually use PE stuff to do it. Thing is there are no real turnbuckles on the late war British aircraft.

Yeah, and I do the SciFi and off the wall stuff once in a while. I thought I was bad about tackling difficult builds. Take it away and make it gorgeous Paddy!

When I built my 1/48th Albatros, I placed the flying lines with fine nylon line. Worked quite well. To simulate the turnbuckles, I used a piece of the same nylon line cut to length. Then used a little super glue to round it up it worked fairly well on the 1/48th scale kit. Something to...
