    Merkava Mk. 4M Trophy (Meng)

Are those tracks resin or styrene? Meng goofed by not offsetting the left and right road wheels. The Merkava tanks have torsion bar suspension. Fortunately the goof isn't really that noticeable exxept to someone who is fairly familiar with Merkava tanks. Cheers

    THANKS!

I have severe sleep apnea, severe chronic fatigue and then SAD in the winter. As you can imagine this can lead to severe depression for me. This forum often times relieves that depression a LOT better than any medication did and without the side effects. I truly enjoy looking at others builds...

Auxilary shields on quad 2.0cm gun Mobelwagen?

WOW! That's an interesting and easily done modification to the 3.7cm Mobelwagen I haven't started yet. I just might do that to be different. Thanks and cheers

Auxilary shields on quad 2.0cm gun Mobelwagen?

Danke! Thanks! I didn't know this was a prototype only. I'm REALLY glad I bought the cheaper version of the Tamiya kit. I'll build this one with the armour in the position shown in t he image you posted. I'll build my Tamiya 3.7cm variant with the armour folded all the way down. You've been a...

Auxilary shields on quad 2.0cm gun Mobelwagen?

I don't see anything on the inside of the main front and rear shields that these attach to the outside of that look like them. Are you saying that those 4 pieces on t he outside of the front and rear main shields are doors that go through the main shields? I'm talking about these 4 hinged...

Auxilary shields on quad 2.0cm gun Mobelwagen?

I see that there are 4 other shields that go on the front shield and the rear shield of the quad 2.0cm Mobelwagen. These smaller shields appear to be hinged. Does anyone know what they are for and how/when they were deployed? Here's an image with the pertinent shields marked with a red *...

All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

I've got a bit of a production line of 1/35 scale Panzer IV based vehicles on the go. Here's an image of where they're at as of last night 2018, 12, 11. The two Academy kits are direct copies of the old Tamiya ones. Cheers

    Merkava Mk. 4M Trophy (Meng)

Looks like a great model. I hope you don't mind me asking this. Is it my imagination or are the road wheels on the left side NOT offset from those on the right side? I like your weathering reference images too. Cheers

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions Ah, Werner Voss whom many say was the greatest fighter pilot or WW1 based on his 48 victories, enforced leave during 'Bloody April 1917 (when the Red Baron scored 13 victories) and his final battle with many of the Royal Flying Corps aces and how long it took them to down...

Colour of glass = German AFV periscopes?

Thank you very much Mike. That really answers my question and even tells how to paint the vision blocks. Btw, they are clear with perhaps just a VERY light tint of green. Cheers

Colour of glass = German AFV periscopes?

Thanks Mike. Krylon doesn't make that colour? My goodness! What is the modelling world coming to? VBEG No problem since when I do use Krylon it's usually just for a base coat/primer although they do make some colours that are very close to WW2 Russian Green. I'll mix my own colour for those...

Colour of glass = German AFV periscopes?

Didn't know it'd make a difference. I'm wondering about the ones on Jadgpanzer IV's both the L48 and L70 gun ones as well as Tiger I and Tiger II and Jadgtiger's if those had them too.

Colour of glass = German AFV periscopes?

Anyone know what colour the GLASS (not the periscope housing)was on German periscopes inside tank and also outside? Thanks again and cheers.

Italeri 6488 Jagpanzer IV Barrel wrong size?

Looks like you might be right. I just found a video on You Tube that has some reasonably good footage in it that shows a definite step from the muzzle brake to the gun barrel itself. Here's a screen-capture of it. The barrel might be a bit thin at the beginning of the muzzle brake but I can...

It looks really good to me. I hope your sealer doesn't wash out the subtle effects. Cheers

Italeri 6488 Jagpanzer IV Barrel wrong size?

Here's an image with three 7.5cm gun barrels = the Italeri 7.5cm L48, the Tamiya 7.5cm anti-tank & Tamiya 7.5cm L70. Note the step from the muzzle brake from the rear of the metal barrel is not smooth. I think the metal barrel is too small where it joins the muzzle brake. What's the opinion...

Italeri 6488 Jagpanzer IV Barrel wrong size?

Hi there. I have the 1/35 scale Italeri Sd.Kfz.182 Jagpanzer IV Ausf.F kit number 6488. It has a turned metal barrel in it. However, to me the muzzle end of that barrel looks to be quite small - more like I'd expect a 5.0cm gun barrel to be. Does anyone here know for sure if the gun barrel in...
