Lighting question for the wiring gurus

Did you ever get that CDL model light working? I put a light into the searchlight of a Tamiya 1/35 scale M-48 tank. It lights up but doesn't throw a big beam of light. I have the light wires wrapped through 2 holes in the turret base and there are 2 wires wrapped trough holes in the...

    HELP! With stash thinning

Here's the situation. I'm seriously thinking about moving from my bachelor apartment to a one bedroom unit about one block away. My stash of models and figures is really too big for me to build in my lifetime if I live another 31 years. I'd be 100 years young then. Many members on my dad's side...

    An unlikely escort

looking pretty good there. I think the hardest part will be damaging the left horizontal stabilizer to match the real thing. I'm sure you're up to the challenge though. This is simply an awesome build and thread. Cheers

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions After waiting a couple of years for the not-so-local hobby shop to get it, I order the Academy MAgach 7C kit online. I wanted one before they went out of of production. Amazing upgrades; to think that that the base vehicle was the venerable M-60 tank. Cheers

    An unlikely escort

Thus far it looks as if when this is finished it'd be worth placing in an aviation museum. Cheers

Tamiya U.S. Modern Army Infantry 1985 release?

My buddy is building a M1 Abrams tank I gave him. He's wondering if the Tamiya 35133 set of U.S. Modern Army Infantry (released in 1985) can be use in a Gulf War 1 (1991) setting? How about Gulf War 2? Thanks again and cheers

Interesting article on flying the Fokker Dr.1 with

I think that Werner Voss should be much more widely known as he was a superb pilot and many say that he was a far better pilot than Manfred von Richtofen was. I also like the face that Werner Voss had painted on the cowling of his Dreidecker. Cheers

    Which M-113 Variant in Vietnam?

Sorry for the delay fellows. I was out winter camping since Saturday and got hit with two snowfalls which made riding the MTB with its 26" x 2.125" knobby tires on the trails and then on the rail-trail rather interesting. I have some images of Vietnam Era M-113s but am always interested in...

    Which M-113 Variant in Vietnam?

Thanks big heaps there James. That's great to know. I really like this site because the vast majority of people here reply on topic to questions. When you say the TC sat on a board. Was that board set across the opening of the hatch? It looks like i have everything I need to build my Vietnam...

    Which M-113 Variant in Vietnam?

Okay where did my Quick reply go? I'll make another reply and hope it lands okay. For a Vietnam Conflict M-113 I should use the diesel engine from the A2 kit. Should I also use the larger fuel tank from the A2 kit? What about the seating in the cargo area? Should I stay with the bench seats...

    Which M-113 Variant in Vietnam?

Hi there. I need to thin down my stash. I have the old Tamiya M-113 kit with the troops on top and also have the old Tamiya M-113 ACAV variant. My understanding is that those are both M-113 A1 variants and that the M-113 A2 was the basis for the Vietnam era M-113 APCs. So, I do have a few A2...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions I really like a lot of the MiniArt figures and accessories sets. the quality is pretty high and a lot less expensive than resin for figures and things like tables, chairs et cetera. Cheers

Storing Kits 4 A Few Months?

Thanks Skinny Mike. The storage will be here at my apartment. The move itself when done will be just over a block away. The other thing that I'm trying to figure out is the best way to pack my 1/600 scale Airfix WW2 warship models that I've already built. Those masts are pretty delicate. Cheers
