Here is the first update. Got the engine and the cockpit sans instrument panel build up. Even though the detail is pretty nice, the fit of this kit leaves a little to be desired. Most of the locating pins didn't it and I had to cut them off. If the parts had locating pins that is. Also the parts...

Finally I made it. Here is my project for the fantastic CTA 2 campaign. I decided in ICM's Spitfire Mk.IX flown by Polish Ace Euginiusz Horbaczewski. My plan is to finish this model in RAF Desert camo. There are a ton of parts to this kit including a full engine and some maintenance shop...

Low and behold.....I actually managed to finish a model. Here is Tamiya's T-72 straight out of the box. It is actually a pretty nice kit and even has some PE for the engine grills. It also came with the hoses for the external fuel tanks. It was fun to build. Here are some pictures. Joe

A few more pictures. Got wheels, tow cables and tools attached and most of the detail painting done. I probably try to tackle the tracks today.

I had a couple times were I had missing parts from Tamiya kits. I called Tamiya USA and was able to get replacement sprues for a few bucks.

Very nice choice. I build the Leo 2A5 a while back and have 3 of the 2A6 in my stash including one with full aftermarket including resin engine. Just hadn't had the guts yet to start it. Joe

Very nice Terry. I am surprised at how well detailed these new Airfix kits are, even without AM parts. I did have the Coyote (6x6) but it became a victim of gravity on a concrete pad. Needless to say that the model didn't win. Joe

Thanks guys. After looking at a few more pics I start to think that OD is the wrong color. I got my hands on a couple of bottles of Yellow Olive. One is from Vallejo and the other is from Scale Finishes. I think I give that a try. Joe
