Fretting….! That’s what I should have used, brass sheet fretting, that would have worked no?

Well, I tried fixing my broken frames, tried a few times in fact, kind of a frustrating thing, couldn't get every frame aligned and looking right. I guess the first time was the charm (beginners luck?) so...I added a shim of sheet plastic to the rear of the cockpit opening, another on one lower...

A clear canopy, nose section and top turret are included in the kit. I wanted to try making my own frames for the cockpit just to see if I could, I liked (still do like) the result but during closing up and sanding of the seams I may have squeezed a little to tight or hit it on something and...

I’m past worrying about the fairing fillet discussion if it’s ok with you... Sometimes a brain fart works out, I've got all the side windows glued in now and will use the same(ish) method on the windshield and cockpit side windows. here's a couple of shots of the progress (micro crystal clear...

    AMT 2017 Camaro "Fifty"

It does spray good...until it gets old, then it sprays really really bad, imagine if you will, trying to shoot silver snot through an airbrush. I don't know when it goes from shooting great with great coverage to turning into the paint equivalent of a teenager with an attitude but it does.

I do not have a drill press, I use pin vice drills and small hole punches....I should say I not have a "small" drill press, I have a drill press out in the shop (attached garage) that I use mostly for metal work, wood work and spinning pieces of razor sharp flat metal in a horizontal plane in an...

I'm not sure if I'm procrastinating/ putting off working on the clear nose section but, I've added a few more details to the cabin area, I think I may be able to splash some interior green around in there now. I've begun finishing the rear flooring (need to finish the riser between the rear part...

so much encouragement here! Thank you!! still adding do dads to the cabin, actually cut the door open so it's not all hidden away until I die and a grand-kid destroys it. The rear spar has been added, ribbing and stringers on the stbd side a tail wheel strut from a HK Models B-17 and radios from...

    AMT 2017 Camaro "Fifty"

Buddy of mine has one, drives it like he hates it. First thing I noticed is the length of the hood when viewed from such a low seating angle is it’s hard to judge near distances in front of the car. second thing I noticed is you step up getting out of it! And no… not onto the sidewalk! third...

Nice thing about a vac...everything you add adds some interest I've taken on the enjoyable job of adding an interior (again reiterating the point) it's not accurate or representative of an actual aircraft, just my interpretation of the interior working from some museum pictures and imagination...

    AMT 1970-1/2 Z/28 Finished-12/30

your comment about your dad seeing the engine and stopping the purchase reminds me of2 things…. my dad and my first purchase of a Plymouth road runner, he said he’d have ”put the kybash to it if he’d known what I was doing” and George Thorogoods??; my dad said son you’re gonna drive me to...

No, no wing fairings. I'm undercutting (beveling??) the inside of the wings so they will fit very tightly over the raised profile (locators) on the sides of the fuselage. The fit in the picture is not actually as good as it was moments before I took the picture (the tape having come away and...

staying on track men... I've made a bit more headway on this battle. I'm actually (today) feeling confident I may see it through to the end...maybe I have added some "imagineering" to the spar. and begun fitting the airplane shaped parts together; Thanks for looking

II think I'll stick to Legos and EZ build kits... Am I doing that bad a job? I've scared you off?? I sent some pics to a fellow modeller in the local club, he's decided to donate his vac 1/48 Lockheed Orion that he'll never build... If I finish this, that may be next

still moving ahead on the Hudson (for now) the test fitting of the spar and flight deck inspired me to keep adding to the interior.
