    1/72 Airfix Boulton Paul Defiant

My initial attempts at dolling up the cockpit and closing up the fuselage. I've been away from the bench too long, but I'm trying to slowly work my way back into the fray. I thought this would be a nice little kit to restart the juices flowing.

Thanks fellas! Been awhile since I had a chance to check in here. My little grandson keeps me hopping. Say Bob, what’s all the noise about a Wildcat? ........

    Academy 1/72 F4F-4

Just finished this up this morning. Not a bad little kit for $4.00. The decals were a royal pain, but I made them work.Painted with Bombshell Brew acrylics. I'm still new to acrylics, but I think I did ok for a first effort. Thanks for looking! Greg

Latest Acquisitions I did get to the bench today! and gave the new rig a test run. All new, new paint my first try at acrylics, new compressor, and the new spray booth. Hot damn I'm a happy boy!! I pulled this old Monogram SB2C off the shelf of doom as a test mule and tried out my luck spraying...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Latest Acquisitions Speaking of new things, I recently was able to purchase a new compressor. Instead of a hardware/home center shop compressor, I sprung for a Badger Aspire 910. Now i can move the paint shop from the cold dark cellar up into the house. while its not silent, it is very quiet...

Got to bite the bullet ...switching to Acrylics

Thanks for all your thoughts. I just had to replace my compressor. This time I call Badger directly and ordered from the home office. It got here yesterday with some sample bottles of their brand acrylic paint , and a bottle of Styrenlux (whatever it is called ) primer. So now I have black...

Got to bite the bullet ...switching to Acrylics

Seeing that MM is phasing out their enamels and WEM is hard to come by here in the states. I won’t even discuss Humbrol. I’m going to start the move into acrylics. What brand would be the easiest for me to start with? I know you guys have your favorites, but on the whole I want to not have to go...

    Moldy oldie...1964 Airfix PBY Catalina

Thanks fellas! I appreciate all the kind words. I’m in a quandary right now..... do I move on to finish the Voodoo, the Hellcat or the SB2C? All are gathering dust ready to go to paints. Or do I start on something new?

    Moldy oldie...1964 Airfix PBY Catalina

Thank you kindly Bob. Trust me it looks better in the pictures. And no joke at one point I walked out to the street and pulled it out of the garbage can. Our pick being the next morning. :bangs head

    Moldy oldie...1964 Airfix PBY Catalina

I won't go into the uglyness of this build. It did go into the trash can a couple of times only to find me digging it back out. Just finished it up yesterday.

An Old Friend...1/48 Revell P-40B Finished

An Old Friend...1/48 Revell P-40B Construction Coming along very nicely. If it any use to you I use MEK for almost all my builds. I got tired of paying for Tamiya and Testors liquids. The basic solvent in them is MEK anyway. I paid 8 dollars for a quart years ago and it's still half full...

    P-47s en mass.

Looking good. To build just for fun can be a wonderful way to grab back some of that long lost youth.

    Belle of Belmont

You set the bar pretty high Bob. That sets the gold standard by which all P-47 models can be judged. All the above was horse poo :yipee Seriously excellent build and finish. I wish I could my stuff to look half as good. I bow to skills.
