    Rodent

Thanks for the kind comments fellas, much appreciated. Well, I'm a firm believer that an instruction sheet is simply someone else's opinion, so.. ;) The Beaver is nice to fly. It's a flap airplane, meaning it doesn't want to do anything without 'em. The takeoff run will take forever, and...

    Outstanding work, Jason. :thumbsup

    Rodent

The beaver - Castor Canadensis - is a large, semiaquatic mammal, the largest rodent in North America. Primarily nocturnal.. Oops! Wrong reference book. :facepalm The DHC-2 Beaver was the second design offered by deHavilland Canada after WW2, the first being the primary trainer, the DHC-1...

    Cessna 195 on floats

Excellent job Uros. A quick suggestion. When a floatplane is parked at a dock like that, it is almost always parked with the nose outward. The reason being, once it is fuelled and loaded you don't have to turn it around to taxi out.

Fantastic work. That weathering is something else. :thumbsup

    Cessna 195 on floats

Pup, if you're on FB you can follow Curriers Flying Service, in Maine. The family owns the company. We met online, I had flown his Beaver when it was registered in Canada.

    Swine!

Thanks for the kind comments fellas, much appreciated. Chris, I think I've seen that T-Beaver kit somewhere, but I can't remember what scale it was. Anything less than 1:48 - unless it's a big model - is Braille scale for me. Uros I've built a couple of those 1:48 DC-3's. It's a fun thing...

    Cessna 195 on floats

Great work Uros. The water rudder cables look fine. If you never heard from Roger Currier, it was probably because he was recently diagnosed with cancer. They had to pull their Beaver out of the water early, he was the only pilot. He has great attitude, says he'll be back flying again next spring.

    Swine!

And here she be. It makes a pleasing model. Everything aft of the firewall is bog standard Otter, and I've built a flock of them. The stuff on the roof are the antennas, the grab handle for climbing up on the roof, and the probe for the outside temperature gauge. Thanks to Chris...

    Swine!

Thanks Uros. Well, this one is done and dusted, finished it this afternoon. Before then, I had to fabricate the double slotted flaps. After cutting off the wing tips - for reasons that will become apparent - cut off the flaps lines in two locations on the top... ...And bottom of the wings...

    Swine!

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. Much appreciated. :thumbsup Good question. I have never flown a PT-6 - well, an hour and a half with a Turbo Beaver on skis doesn't count - so I went to the source with the question. Here's his answer: <<With the Pt6 there is an option for blade latches...

    Swine!

Thanks for the kind comments fellas. :thumbsup Makes it easy for Search & Rescue to find the crash site. :bgrin I hadn't been able to work much on this thing over the summer. Got lazy, and had visitors. I finally got the gear built and installed - with the exception of the ski check...

    Cessna 195 on floats

Fine work, Uros. :thumbsup I forgot to ask you on FB, but what did you use for those seat belts? They look far more realistic than my masking tape efforts.

    Cessna 195 on floats

Off to a great start Uros. Check out Currier's Flying Service on FB, they operate two 195's on floats from a base in Greenville, Maine. Roger Currier would be more than pleased to answer any questions you may have, I'm sure. (As an aside, I used to fly the Beaver they also operate, 50 years...

    Swine!

Thank you Sherman. Hadn't much time to work on the beast recently, what with visitors etc. Got some colour on the thing. I used Tamiya acrylics, white, lemon yellow with a couple of drops of orange in it, and their orange, shot with the trusty Testors airbrush from Wally's. The cabin roof...

Fantastic job as usual Uros. :thumbsup Man that thing is tiny. I still say it needs a drop of sludge hanging off the drain. ;)

    Swine!

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Sharky. I cut both ends off a pop/beer can about a half inch from the end, using a boning knife. A box cutter would work also. Then I use scissors to cut the material lengthwise to make an irregular sheet. Then I use a box cutter and a straight edge and cut...
