I cant seem to make any build last more than a couple of weeks. its a bit of a problem because its expensive TBH. I only spend a couple of hours at night if there is nothing on TV

Tamiya Ferrari 312T 1/12 1975 Finished this last night, Its a fantastic kit with fit and detail top notch and at 50+ years old it puts many new kits to shame. ;-) I struggled with the decals a bit, the originals had gone yellow and the replacement ones, basically a few pinstripes on the...

As predicted i made a mess of the decals :-) the top came out OK but i had trouble with the sides. where the decals were like they were pre stressed and as soon as i slid them off the backing paper they instantly coiled up like a watch spring....... it immediately became pretty obvious i was...

I changed the cables from the clocks to 0.7mm from 1mm and really please with the difference, it shows how detail is far more critical to scale as you get smaller, it might seem like 0.3mm is not a lot but think of ity as 30% and suddenly its more important, also added some seat belts, Tamiya...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

"whoever did the assembly instructions needed some lessons." Looking on another site today where the ease of build of some models over others came up Maybe he was like the Pocher designer, a raving alcoholic who designed some models while sober....and some while drunk as a skunk :)

Another great example of things looking ok to the naked eye but looking wrong in an enlarged photo is Tamiya's 1mm tubing for brakes and cables. I need to do something about this, i wish i could find 0.75mm tubing with a thin wall. 1mm scaled is 12mm or half inch. Brake pipes would be 7 or...

I will reserve my opinion till i see the kit. It may be that it warrants the price of upgrades or it may be that the old adage, You cant polish a t**d comes into play....... :) the bottom line is my recent research with help from some links here shows their is a devoted following for these...

Thats interesting Paul. first i need to get this thing here and see if its good/bad or Ugly :-) and crucially, complete and actually rebuildable so watch this space.. Its come from a house clearance up north , Elvington Hall. Usually with these stately homes they have 3 or 4 times the contents...

not really sure how far to go with this? You reach a stage where you start covering up all the work you have done :) Anyway i decided it needs a rear wing while i wait for some seat belts which Tamiya never included in these early kits One good thing about building something you wouldn't...

Gothaforce - New Aviation Pioneering Age Model Company

£185 or $240, depends on how much you want the subject but if its really good and i mean WnW quality or better its just about buyable. If it was a Tamiya at that price it would be available at about 30% less after a few weeks but i doubt this small run stuff would drop that much.

    Lancia Stratos

I just thought the very modern Cad pictures pointed to new moulds. that said all the Italari cars except the Lancia Delta seem to have been re pops of the Protar kits.

Italeri are releasing a new Stratos The pre release blurb shows cad design pictures etc implying this is a new kit but is it ??? www.themodellingnews.com/2024/10/preview-italeris-112th-scale-lancia.html or is it this...
