I have been looking for info on the Universal Carrier Mk II so I can build some of my Tamiya kits and stumbled upon this series. As I was especially keen on finding info, drawings etc for the Wasp II when I saw this book and its subjects I immediately bought it. Let me say WOW what a book.
------------------------------------
Written and researched by Nigel Watson this is volume II of a 3 volume series. It is a hardcover book with a nice dust cover and measure 12" x 8.5" and 336 pages. This particular volume covers the Universal Carrier, Mortar, Medium MG, T16, Windsor, Local Pattern, Oxford, Cambridge, Flamethrowers, armoured Snowmobile, and other variants. The jacket suggests this was made with Owners, Modelers, Restorers, and ex servicemen in mind, and I must say it delivers on that promise.
Well laid out the book is full of pictures, drawings, and supporting text. The pictures have very detailed write ups making them very valuable references. The drawings are from manufacturers schematics and drawings from the vehicle manuals. The wealth of information for various mods and equipment layouts is astounding. My eyes have been opened to so many different possible vehicles.
I am thrilled with this book and will definitely buy volume 1 and 3. This one is courtesy of my wallet and cost £30.00 plus postage. Well worth it in my opinion. I bought it from http://www.universalcarrierbook.co.uk/
Anyone with even a tiny interest in the Universal carrier should look into this collection
