Tiger Productions “Sunken Road”

Tiger Productions has released as part of their diorama products range a 1/35th scale scenery base mastered by Ben Jacobsen.  The kit comes packed extremely well in a heavy cardboard box with a multiple photographs of the kits contents on the cover.

------------------------------------

The kit is cast in a mauve colored odorless resin. Included in the kit are two wall sections, two columns and a large 8 ½ inch by 11 inch base.  Quality of the casting is superior with minimal bubbles to contend with (most are in hidden places).
There are no instructions, but none are really needed. Clean up should be simple, but some adjusting will be needed during construction, which is typical of this type of product.  There are large pour plugs to remove on the walls and pillars, but they were easily removed with a razor saw.

The only down side to the product is the voids present on the front and sides of the base, requiring the modeler to fill and sand these, something that could have been easily avoided.
Some may remember a similar product released by Monroe Perdu, but they are different enough to be non-competitive as the Monroe Perdu kit is about ¼ the size of this kit, and only has one wall section and one column. This is a very welcomed diorama product, highly recommended.

From Jose T. Rodriguez:
The "voids" were probably created when the base somehow separated when the mould was curing.  This mould was a test mould so that I can have some samples and it will not be the production moulds.  It will be fixed on the new production moulds.  The new moulds/items will not have those "voids".

Thanks

Jose
