Matrixone/Les King has been a fixture around the on-line modelling scene for a number of years, not only here at Modelers' Alliance but other forums as well.

In that time he has repeatedly demonstrated a dedication to the cause of late war (and beyond) Luftwaffe modelling that few could match. His attention to detail, backed-up with mountains of research and topped-off with a mastery of his airbrush and camera repeatedly produces projects of incredible quality, diversity and, sometimes, we’re certain he’d agree with… quirkiness ! – all within the Luft ’44-46 cannon. Add to these skills, his willingness to provide insight, advice and suggestion to anyone who asks for it. How many times have we found personal messages from him, paragraphs long with double sourced references confirming the shade of that RML2 that we wonder about. Les is an indispensable aide when doing a Luftwaffe scheme.

We use to only get an update from him from time to time showing his completed works. With a little prodding we have been able to get Works in Progress updates from him and see what really goes into creating those masterful Luftwaffe schemes we so enjoy. That is when the weather is good enough for some outdoor photography.

Add to this his photographic work using mixed scales of subjects to create that forced perspectives of his unknown airfield deep inside Germany with his scratched built hanger and backdrop. It's truly is a treat to see his completed works.

Les simply lets the sheer consistency and quality of his models speak for themselves, (all on a limited budget), never one to loudly blow-his-own-trumpet, one of the quietly-getting-on-with-it guys….

….Time to take a break and be recognized, Les. Well done, sir !!
