    53 Ford F-100

Yeah, the welding bottles are a nice addition. I thought it might be the same kit. It comes with a flathead V-8 but no six.

    53 Ford F-100

This a pickup I had briefly in High School. I had to buy a second kit to get a straight 6 engine, and then I had to severely modify it because the manifolds were on the opposite side as it was from a later model. The color is Cape Blue, a 60's GM truck color that we painted our equipment. It...

    Special Hobby P-39Q Airacobra

That shot is a Paul Bowen specialty and the vortices are from the wing tips in cruise flight with flaps up. There are normally no vortices from engine nacelles. At high altitude and cold temperatures contrails will form but not until the exhaust has cooled sufficiently for the water vapor to...

    AZ Model 1/72 Bell X-2

Thank you all for the kind comments. It was a challenge for me because of the limited run kit and small size, coupled with my shaky hands, which thankfully seem to be getting a bit more steady. Mel Apt lost his life in this one. It was a loss of control due to inertial coupling, a new and...

    Revell P-51D-5

Thanks for all the nice comments, as undeserved as they are :bang head Beaten into submission pretty well sums it up. The decals went on well, though I could have worked harder on silvering on some of the smaller stencils. I can't remember when I was so glad to get a model off the bench...

    AZ Model 1/72 Bell X-2

Getting closer on this one. I am trying really hard to keep the white looking clean, which I find difficult. Using cotton gloves to handle it.

    Revell P-51D-5

Just a couple more decals, fiddly bits, and dull coat to go. Had to do a little remedial work on the gun port inserts. In order to preserve the complicated panel line in those areas I made masks so the filler would not obscure them.

I worked on learning Inventor, but then Autodesk pulled the plug on it.

    Revell 1/72 S.E.5a. Because I wanted one.

I built most of the Revell 1/72 biplanes when LBJ was at the helm, and I still have most of them. Perhaps I will take pictures.

    New guy

Welcome, BM. I have using AutoCad (2D only) for years and am trying to learn 3D modeling for printing. I look forward to picking your brain! Just starting on Fusion, Blender didn't seem to work for me.

Fokker VIII 1/48th scale by Eduard.

That looks like the same age as the Eduard Siemens Schuckert D.IIIa I built, kit 8001, which I am certain was their first WW I model. I recommend you go to one of the newer Eduard biplanes before you try this one, I have the Dragon D.VIII and every once in a while I look at the parts, and...
