Surfing

Howdy all

I was wondering if anyone knows much about the history of surfing (as in the ocean and peace of wood type of surfing)? More specifically, early-mid 50's, and what the boards looked like, length/width etc?

I have a wee project on the go that needs a scratched surfboard, but I know almost nothing about surfing to even try and guess what they looked like back then.

Thanks in advance

Rob
