That painting looks excellent. It looks to me.

I never have tried painting oils on canvas, but after looking at your progress, I can see how doing so every once in a while could help one with their figure painting skills. If you can make the shadows and highlights look convincing on a flat surface the placing them on a 3D figure shouldn't be too difficult.
