My all time favorite painting finally in styrene..

Copyright , .................. nah used to do my artwork for friends , no stores .
I guess taking down trees , working aloft on tel poles all day then havin a few beers after work , then crashin and havin to get up and do it all over again the next day didn't make for a good sit down at the drawing board and paint thing .
I was raised that if you didn't work you wouldn't have money to buy or do things .
Caught on to that real quick , was workin doin this or that since I was 12 .
Unlike my son who works but doesn't have the same drive .
I don't have a computer I use his old laptop , he's got some kind of mega cray set up in his room for gaming .
For fun him and his idjit friends use this laptop to send porn bombs to all their friends , and they send them back here , oh they think its a hoot .
And it's his old laptop so if it's crapped up with viruses and stuff ............. who cares .
The kid s got just about every electronic device on the planet , a little spoiled nowadays or what .

Got all Frazettas works , was 20 yrs old when Death Dealer1 was painted in 73 . I copied it in pastel chalk on a 4x8 piece of sheet rock for a friend . Got a quarter lb of red for that one .
The hatchet cover was 1978 , was 28 yrs old then .
I also used to copy album covers on the back of jean jackets in oils , my fav was Steppenwolf live album cover with the wolf face , can't remember how many of those I did .
Used to make a lot of money doin those , can't remember why I stopped .........................

That's funny, I made a ton painting jackets back in the day myself at $75-100 a pop, which was good money back then. I remember a crapload of Zep IV Hermits on a black background. A few years ago I dug out the acrylics to do a Maiden jacket for my son and was amazed to find how expensive a Levis Dungaree jacket became, I rememeber them for like $10, I think they were like $80 now. People stop him all the time to ask about it, including teachers.

I hear ya regarding kids. My sons were building and wielding airbrushes at 6 or so, drawing and painting, etc until they got iPhones. Now nothing. I had a busboy job as soon as I could get working papers and before that mowing lawns. My oldest is heading into engineering school in the fall and I bet his first work experience will be a $120K a year job after he graduates. Kids don't see the value or reason in a part time gig. He earns/designs things in video games that he sells online. I have no idea how it works, but he gets some real money to keep him going and it's nothing illegal so I can't really intervene.

I painted this Frazetta on my own jacket back in the day, it landed me a job in a specialty bakery that did portrait cakes (and the wedding cake for The Godfather).

Really amazing work. Just to be able to paint like that is fantasy land for me. BTW Surfing, hotrods, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix was my era of music. Gary S. :eek:ldguy
