bought my first ever airfix kit, 1/72 DH-88.
Worst kit I've ever bought....the wings are mismolded and its generally crap.
However it will be a good challenge.

Some interesting books you found there James! Again I ask where did you find them? :)

On my trip to Tulsa, Paulw took me out to a little hobby shop up in Owasso which is a small town up a little north northeast of Tulsa on highway 169.

There I found an old 1/32 scale kit of a Beechcraft Staggerwing. As I think about it, seems like this kit went through my hands/stash about 25 or 30 years ago. I knew it was a pretty poor kit and only is good as a starting point. If I had to rate it on a Harry Potter scale it would get the "T" for Troll grade. it's real basic and everything will need to be reworked or scratchbuilt.

I also picked up this one while I was there:

Picked this up for a possible on the Micro Build coming up:

And found this in my storage building. Forgot all about them. Actually pretty decent kits of the Stooges.

Might use them for the figure build coming up, unless someone has a better idea. They actually interlock together and this is a scene from one of their movies. Think I have it on video. Will see.

A friend sends me this 1/16th scale head and leaves me wondering why he never finished the figure. I told him about this post so be honest, should he go on? This was designed to be used on Trumpeter's 1/16th scale T-34 series but any will do.

Some more new stuff
My HB from WINGNUTS came while I was in Japan

Picked up a 1/18 v1 model - it's basic but big and should make a nice visual display.
DSC01383_zps07ae3d5f.jpg

Also picked up one of these - An Academy Sopwith Camel. It was only $20.00!
The detail is very well molded and is really quite a nice kit. They do a newport as well.....Wingnuts haven't done either of these as yet. A nice alternative for ww1 aircraft if you can't afford the WNW kits. It seems everyone is doing WW1 stuff at the moment. :frantic

Seeing these new Bradleys has me seriously thinking about picking one up. Built one about 20 years ago, and would love to build another one.

Got a package in the mail today that I've been eagerly anticipating, my punch sets from RP Toolz in Hungary.

3 sets of punches. A Hex punch set, micro punch (.5-2mm) and large punch set (2-4.5mm)
