Hello from the UK

Hi Guys,

My name is Chris, and I like to build tanks! Well, model ones anyway

Mainly I build British and COmmonwealth WWII in 1/35, but I have been known to do other things too. I also have a bit of a thing for the Churchill in all its forms

In addition to building 'em I am about to launch a new AM Company specialising in full fighting compartment and turret, resin and etch interiors for Allied WWII AFVS. Here are a couple of WIP shots of the turret from our first release, an interior for the MkIII Churchill (although there are some details and the ecth still to add):

Hi Chris.

Welcome from California. That looks like some cool resin you have going on there. Heres to hoping your venture is sucessful. And maybe you could use some of them to enter in the Group builds we have going right now, or in the future. It would be nice to see some of your work.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the site mate, great looking models

Leggy, go the gunners ???????????
Surely you mean "come on you lions" !

G'day Chris  ,

We are mighty glad you found us ! :) Looks like your new buisness is going to be a success ! Let us know how we can help you with that .

Jenny

Dieppe Churchill's Love It!!! Welcome aboard, Great to have another "Good Guy" builder on our side

Thanks Guys :)

Leggy, I live in Bristol, and come from near Exeter, so as you will guess, I know nothing about footy.

Nice Churchills Iowabrit! Especially Shepherd. Is that an IMA Conversion, or Cromwell?

Thanks Jenny, I appreciate that :)

Thanks Cam. That's kind of how the business came about. I set myself a task to build all the churchills that landed at Dieppe (and I've since added the Jeep above and all the dingos!) yep, that's how much I like Churchills!

As they are all shown after the battle with their hatches open I thought it would make sense to build my interior and cast it. I got a lot of people asking me if I'd consider selling it... and there you go :)

A big welcome from a fellow Brit and British/commonwealth tank nut  enjoy TNT its a great site with some of the worlds best modelers and your armour is brilliant :cheer: :cheer:

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the Big TnT

Thats some outstanding work you have done.

Excellent achievement.

Cheers
Michael :)

Welcome and good luck with the business. I haven't found a better/nicer site and I'm betting you won't either.

I just posted a couple of book titles in the Books section (Who'd have guessed? Books in the Books section.) about the 1st Assault Brigade Royal Engineers on D-Day that is full of Churchills. If you ever get a chance to check out the book, I'd be curious what you're reaction to it is. It seemed great to me.

Anyway, good to have you here.

Rob.

Hi Chris,

Fancy seeing you here mate! For those of you who have not seen Chris's work before he really does have an eye for detail. He has a fascination for Churchills and his Dieppe version was finished just before the Dieppe version was announced.

Regards

Brian

Wow, thanks guys :D

Iowabrit, thanks for that. I’m a big fan of Resicast’s stuff. With them an AA there some great resin bits out there, and I see IMA are doing a Black Prince this year :) I’m toying with the idea of adding an A20e to the release schedule, although that would be a full kit

Carabinier, is there any other armour worth modelling?

Thanks Michael, looking around the work on this site is incredible. I’m really looking forward to learning off of you guys :)

Thanks Sherman 18 :)

Rob, if there is a good book about that features Churchills, I’ll buy it! I’m definitely looking that up, especially as AVRE versions might be on the cards from AFV Club (they have the MkIV Turret, why not?)

Thanks Brian, coming from you that’s a real compliment. Your work inspired me to start tangling with the old plasticard. I remember you said it was addictive. How right you were!

The Dieppe Sherman I did was a MkII, which I hope AFV Club will produce a kit of. I used theor MkIII as a base kit, plus Cromwell MkII Dieppe Conversion plus heay track, and a lot of scratching, including the buckled fender and a full interior (although the new kit I'm doing is better) The decals were the superb set from Echelon

Hey Simon, good to see you here too. Obviously they only let the best people in LOL. Are you going to TnT? It would be good to see the Cornwall Modellers again :)

By the way, sorry for the blatant plug Jenny, but if anyone is interested, I'm putting together a mailing list for the business (Inside the Armour). If you'd like to be kept up to date with new releases, release dates, what's coming next etc, or if you have suggestions of tanks for which you'd like to see an interior (as long as they're not panzers!) email me at insidethearmour@live.co.uk with the subject 'mailer'

Chris :)

Welcome to the best site on earth. I guess I'll put my Churchil away now and wait to see whats coming.

Hi Chris

Sadly no. My plans for the year involve the purchasing of a new (and rather expensive) digital camera body, which precludes any long distance and/or overnighters.

I'm doing RNAS Yeovilton, Torbay, Plymouth, Bovington Tankfest, and our own show in Penzance in September.

You'll like it here mate.

Simon
