Ladies and Gentlemen ...

I got to get this jewel in resin ...
kit.jpg

I´ll start this kit in this weekend (... and you are invited to attend and provide feedback ...)

But I'm having a hard time finding references about this British Girl ....

Could anyone help me with something??

TIA....

Panzerserra

Can't help other than to say if you can't find references then neither can anyone else. I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle like this, which ain't saying anything because i'm not expert. Looking forward to your WIP.

Some links:

http://www.armyvehicles.dk/guyant.htm for a Danish Army Guy Ant
http://www.imagecontrol.com.au/oldcmp/Guy_Aug_06.html for the more usual Guy Ant 4x4 artillery tractor.

For a drawing of the 15cwt Guy Ant: http://www.modelartanddesign.com/page11.htm

Hope that helps.

Hi Panzerserra.

Welcome back to the new T&T. That is going to be one cool looking little dude. Are you going to do it in desert colors, or in greens?

Gary B)

Thanks, Guys !!!!

Gary, in first instance, in green...I don´t found any picture of this Girl with desert dress...

Searching...

Well...
Starting the game!!!!

The real Guy Ant 15 CWT Light Lorry 4x2

I'd like to do something different with this little girl!!

After many research hours, I decided to place this truck in Algeria, 1943,
supporting the 14th RAF Squadron, which at the time, used Marauders IA torpedo-
bombers.

This Squadron was the home of the famous "Dominion Revenge"

GuyAnt15CWT012.jpg

If you want to know more about this glorious Squadron, click here...

My truck will be paint in RAF colors... As she was serving at an air base, these girls were not necessarily camouflaged, as we seen in this photo of the 14th Squadron:

The colors "in colors" (the truck in the picture is a Chevy ...)
GuyAnt15CWT014.jpg

And a complete profile that I did... (excuse the crudeness of the design ...)
GuyAnt15CWT010.jpg

Resin parts...
GuyAnt15CWT001.jpg

The kit is old, but cool...
GuyAnt15CWT002.jpg

The wheels came wrong, for the 4x4 version ... I swapped by Chevy 15 CWT resin wheels:

Instructions are Spartans, at least ...
GuyAnt15CWT026.jpg

I started assembling the cargo bed and support brackets:

Building the cabin and the chassis.
Detail: the chassis shows no twist, which is a miracle of the Gods, in the case of resin models ...
GuyAnt15CWT004.jpg

And the two sub-assemblies glued:

Chassis...low view;

And the girl, standing on its feet:

Well, this is it ...for now!!!!

Stay tunning, Lads...

Hi there.

It's looking good. What do you use to glue with, epoxy or CA?

That would great with an Italeri (ex Peerless Max) Chevrolet Quad and a Tamiya Ford Quad. That would be quite the family lineup.

How much was the kit?

Thanks for sharing and cheers from Peter

Ohhh. She does look sweet so far. I can hardly wait to see what you do to her when the color starts flying :) .

Peter, hi...

I use cyanoacrilate (CA) in this girl...But if I need more strenght, I use epoxi (rapid) to reinforce the parts...

I agree...Where the British lorries in plastic ????

About price, sorry...I can´t help you...I buy this pearl in second hand, with a modeler, my friend...very cheap to me...

Gary, thanks...

She will wear blue RAF, with plenty of sand and dust ...

Keep waiting, that soon we will have news ...

excellent job Panzerserra

I love the Brit trucks as well and I look forward to seeing some paint
on this little Jem

Cheers
Michael :)

Thanks, Gents...

But, continuing the story ...

Mooring rings in resin are very fragile ......
I decided to replace with metal. I used copper wire and soldering electronic ...

GuyAnt15CWT022.jpg

:woohoo:

And the rings installed .... I thought they were much better ...
GuyAnt15CWT023.jpg

I added more pieces in resin and made the frames of the windshield with PE scrap... cyanoacrylate!!!!
GuyAnt15CWT024.jpg

GuyAnt15CWT025.jpg

After pimmer, I made the springs of the truck´s bonnet ... Thin telephone wire...It is a fine detail...
GuyAnt15CWT027.jpg

...and the rear steps:
GuyAnt15CWT028.jpg

After primmer, the first layer of Blue RAF. Acrylic...

GuyAnt15CWT033.jpg

Well, lads ... the thing is so ...

In the photos, you must have noticed that I took a glossy varnish bath in this girl ...

She is ready to receive the decal ...

I will make the decal with my laserjet ... Let's see what happens ...

regards...

Thanks, Sherman...

Yesterday, I did very little ...

I used a letter-set from Archer to make the RAF´s markings. It´s a
great tip you have a set of these handy ...

And as it was, on the sides of Guy::
