US made engines only used two for better combustion . One front and one back

This BMW engine has them at four corners . Either they burned every last molecule or the synthetic gas didn't burn very well ?

The American planes did use a higher octane fuel Wonder if this could have anything to do with it?

I'm only seeing 2 per cylinder Chris. Doing some research there is no mention of more either. Standard is 2 per cylinder for safety and efficiency if I remember my engine theory also.
